Well I got my marco order today and they gave me two packs of 7amp sb instead of one pack of 7amp sb and one pack of 4amp sb, easy enough mix up but still annoying.

My question is i need the 4amp sb for my flipper bridge main power. how badly would I mess things up if i put in a 5amp sb to test it? I know they put the ratings on for a reason and to not over fuse but would this break anything or would it likely work for testing? I could under fuse it with a 2.5 amp if that is smarter. or option C wait for more fuses in the mail.

I know some here know the limitations of these systems well and would be able to comment.

If you put a larger fuse in, you risk damaging the pin before the fuse blows. Or instead of the fuse blowing.

If you put a smaller fuse in, it might blow under normal operation.

If you're just doing a power on test, the 2.5 SB might be fine. It should survive as long as you're testing one solenoid at a time.

It depends on what you are protecting, and if you know you have a problem or not. I have went 1 amp over, but that's about as far as I'll go. If something is bad wrong, it will still blow.

I would not put a 7A in a 4A spot EVER. Put a 3A in a 4A and you'll be fine.

I tossed a 2.5amp fuse in and it allowed me to test the flipper and i discovered the left flipper will need adjustments or a rebuild at the min

Here in the states, radio shack carries a 4a sb fuse. Do you have a chain like that in your neck of the woods? It's a pretty standard part around here.
