I should totally show this thread to my husband the next time he complains when we drive 2 hours for a machine.

Unfortunately for me, living in a remote area of Michigan, I usually have to travel a minimum of 3 hours for game pick-ups. The shortest trip I've had was still 2 1/2 hours one way and the longest trip about 5 1/2 hours one way.

My 8yr old son and I drove from Maine, NY to Cleveland, OH and back a few weeks ago. We left our house at 2am and got back right around 4pm that same day. He did great and only slept for about 30 minutes on the way home. The highlight of the trip was getting pulled over around 4:30am because all my taillights were out... my son thought it was cool seeing daddy get stopped by the police and even cooler when he didn't get a ticket. ;) Gotta love kids!

I drove from Louisville, KY to Chicago, IL (6.5 hrs one way) to get my MK3. It was my grail and gas was cheap in 2005. I got pulled over on the way and DID get a ticket. Had to go to traffic school in IN a month later to wipe it off the record. No regrets. That game will never leave my collection.

I drove 6hrs to pick up a jungle hunt from DPtwiz but also picked up a neo geo 6 slot on the way. The guy with the neo geo told me he had a guy from North Dakota coming to pick up one game. The neo geo was located in Saint Mary OH. That guy is more dedicated than I am.

I drove from Boston to Baltimore and back again for a Neo 19 which was traded to me in exchange for some restoration work for a Capcom Mini Cute that I picked up while I was down there picking up a Capcom Q25 that I purchased in a group order. The way there took about 8 hours, but the way back took 17hrs 'cause I was stock on a blizzard and the roads were not clean, bumper to bumper traffic for over 6hrs, it was defenately the most horrible driving experience I ever had (aside from being stock in vermont on my way to Canada during the fish concert). The roads were so bad that now I feel I can ride through a freaking maelstrom and still come out smelling like a rose.

I've driven to California twice to pick up games. The first trip was back in '04 for The Addams Family and the most recent was last weekend for Donkey Kong and Asteroids.

Ive driven from Michigan to Buffalo New York, and from Mi to Chicago. Both are pretty long trips. About 10 hours and 12 hours round trip. But well worth it.

Drove from Damn near chicago to bayshore, New york. i think it was like a 13 hour drive!
I also drove to chattanooga pinball in damn near georgia. felt like i needed a gun there! lol

Why did you feel like you needed a gun?

Beat my record yesterday...

Left the house at 12:30am and returned back home just before midnight. Traveled a total of 1,407 miles in 23-1/2hrs. Only about 30 minutes of that was "pickup" time so I basically drove 23hrs yesterday... minus fill-the-tank time.

It was worth it because I now have a Crazy Climber project to work on(thanks once again Paul!!!). I wasn't going to drive that far but it was a challenge and after people started telling me "no way" or "you're nuts" I just had to do it. :D

Now back to re-wiring this bad boy...

Furthest driven . . .

Just joined today. One of my first eBay purchases was back in 1997, I drove from Bloomington, IL to Kansas City, MO to pick up a Centipede, & a Donkey Kong. They were in almost MINT condition, & under 300 each. Under 500 miles, & Around 7 hours. Still have the Donkey Kong, sold the Centipede the following Christmas on eBay for 4 X what I paid for it.
