On vacation here in Wells Maine and talked the gf into going to Funspot tomorrow. Don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight, like Christmas eve when I was a kid. I'll be taking plenty of pictures. Found a couple more Arcades here in the area, but they are closed for the season.

I just got back (two days ago - 4 hour drive for me and the family).

Simply amazing. I cannot believe how many GREAT condition classic vids there are. It certainly bought back memories. I am still in awe, speechless, etc. I know you will have a great time there. The vids were kept really nice, the pins not so much.

By the way - if you have extra time - check out castle in the sky - bout 40 mins from Funspot - Old Mansion fully restored 1600 feet above the big lake W... check the local attractions guide for me info. That place was very cool and unexpected surprise.

Not sure if you'll check your email before you go, but there's a coupon on the website for:

50 FREE TOKENS
When You Purchase $20.00 Worth

http://www.funspotnh.com/mws-coupon.htm

That should be enough tokens for a full day of gaming for $20!

Had an awesome day today at Funspot, The place truly is awesome. I could have spent all day there playing all the classics. Love the Donkey Kong II donated by Brian and Greg. Mechanic in me wanted to tear into the games that were not working as they should, mostly sound issues. Imagine it is hard to keep all them games working in tip top condition. As it is commonly said around here, "pictures or it didn't happen". Attached are a few pics for proof. The pac man one is my girlfriend using her new panoramic feature on her new camera. Also have a shot of me getting some time in on the sit down Spy Hunter, never knew they made a sit down version of that. So many cool games that i never knew existed. Can't wait to go back again.

You should see what rare gems are hidden there. And yes the staff is overwhelmed with what it takes to keep all those games running. But they are as passionate about the games as we are and somehow they manage. If you want some real fun show up for the classic arcade tournament. All the big guns come out and it is truly spectacular to watch

I read the banner that said the tournament is in June next year. I imagine that is a great time. I was there just after it opened yesterday, had the entire floor to myself. Just an incredible place. The one operator I talked to was a very nice guy.

Yeah, the tournament should be the first weekend in June next year. It's usually the weekend after Memorial Day (which is May 30th next year).

There's quite a few good places in the area. Naswa, Cedar Lodge, Sun Valley, Lake Winnipesaukee (probably not spelled right), Margate (pricey), and others. Just don't arrive and wait until Funspot closes before looking for one...they roll up the sidewalks at 10pm (I'm speaking from experience :D )
