Okay, so tonight was my girlfriend's birthday, and I decided to propose to her as well. We had been discussing marriage for a while, but she had no idea that I had the ring or was planning to ask her tonight.
Anyway, so I took her to dinner, then we walked at the park, then returned home and swam in the pool, followed by relaxing on the porch, each enjoying a delightful Breckenridge Vanilla porter.
After sunset, we played a few games of Pandora's Palace and Gunsmoke in the garage, then returned to the house where Michele proceeded to boot up Mousetrap.
Once the game warmed up, she opened up the coin door and proceeded to flick the credit switch. I told her that before she started the game, I had something for her.
Her reply?
"Wait a minute, I'm getting ready to start my game!"
I said... "I think this is the one time that the game can wait!"
She knew that coming from me, that meant serious business. I told her to close her eyes.
When she opened them again, I presented her with the engagement ring, popped the question, and with tears in her eyes, she said yes!
This is the gal who played Star Wars for the first time last year, blasted the death star to smithereens on her first try, then when recounting her success a few minutes later to a friend, said...
"I just blew up something called the Death Star!"
Keep in mind she's never seen any Star Wars film!
I've seen her go from being a sporadic Ms.PacMan player when we first started dating in Jan '08, to a regular player of most of my games, in addition to many in a friend's collection like Burgertime, Spy Hunter, Pooyan, and of all things, Metal Slug 2.
Yes, I think I've chosen my wife wisely.
