Hey!

I just picked up a Funhouse from one of my trusted sellers. He didn't have the
keys, but it fired up fine some time ago. When I picked it up, we moved it around
on a cart, and he put the plug in the wall and turned it on. BAM Darkness in the
house.

Now I'm about to drill the lock, but I just wanted to ask: What would cause the machine
to blow the fuse? Just so I can look specific places before I turn it on too:)

Thanks!

Nicholas

I have seen this type of behavior when a previous owner changed the 3-prong plug and mixed up the Hot and Ground wires = pops the house breaker for that circuit immediately.

Ok!

Is the transformer in the bottom of the cabinet in this game, or raised?

Maybe some metalparts are running amok on the cabinet floor:)

Well, I hope to get the turbular lock drilled soon...it'll take years:)

it is in the bottom of the cab. I have one inhouse right now, and just put a new 3 prong plug on it. I can take pics of whatever you need

White wire goes on the silver terminal.
Black wire goes on the gold terminal.
Green (or bare ground) wire goes on the green terminal.

that's a known issue on FH and some other sys11 games, they miss an NTC in the metal box.. especially in Europe (on 220v) and if your house has new wiring (fast automatic fuses) you get the issue more often

btw this is only when it does not _always_ blow the main fuse, but like half of the time..
if it always blows then there's a short somewhere (also check the line filter then in the metal box and wiring in general)

Just in case you're serious - that's an NTC Thermistor in the power wiring box, provides voltage spike protection (like lightning or other overload).

I had a bad one in my Popeye (a re-import) that would cause the game to reset randomly.

One leg was almost completely broken off. Removed and soldered in a new one.

Well, I may know such a device as a varistor?

Thanks,

Funhouse IS a wpc....

It uses sys 11 alphanumeric displays and the flippers are not the same as the WPC I put on my Alien Poker. It is one of those machines made during the transition to WPC it seems.

* the above is just how I see it while working on one, not completely sure.
