I have a early 70S funfest em pinball with a self made problem (yes me)
maybe someone can help.
game played fine no issues (on free play)
while in the middle of a game (yes I am kicking myself right now) triggered the coin switch on the coin door.
game locked up and poped a fuse. now if I restart the game it pops the fuse again.
Did I knock this thing out of time???????
Any Ideas?????????????

Check the credit unit in the back box the switch may have gotten stuck when you added a credit.

re funfest startup

sad to say checked both and thats a negative, I think I may be back feeding. A stuck switch someplace, because if I turn on the game without fuse back lights are normal.. put fuse in place lights get bright and fuse pops.
thanks for the ideas. everyone

On some electromechanicals, usually Williams, the credit unit can cause a blown fuse or cause the game to reset in the middle of a game. This can happen when the credit wheel over rotates past zero or past the maximum credits. This forces the zero-position switches to short against each other or against the maximum credit switch

This problem usually doesn't happen, but sometimes does because somebody messes with the credit unit, incorrectly trying to set it for free play. The solution to this is to make sure the limit pegs/screws on the credit unit are in their proper positions, and if needed put something between the switches, such as electrical tape or fishpaper insulator.
