Fun with eBay...

Do you think this guy has seen his auction? I check on mine and view it just to make sure I didn't miss something.

Those pictures are too funny!

He may have. The pictures may be cached in his browser and so he may be seeing the ones he thinks are there....If he ever clears his cache

It's funny but that kinda sucks. Like it was metioned, he could have at least asked before doing so.

I think that may be it. I wondered what all the fuss was. Once I cleared the cache I think I cracked a rib from laughing:D

Bummer. I finally tried one of the pictures directly into the browser and our corporate firewall is blocking the address of all but the cow. Phooey!

So what did you do, just change the picture on your site but keep the link name the same?

I changed my image name on my website and matched the existing image to it. Then I've just been free floating different images into the image name he's using. ;)

As soon as he notices, it should be an easy fix for him. Like Jeff was saying... I wouldn't have minded much if he at least asked.

when someone uses a picture hosted on your website. :22:

Here's the auction...

He wanted this picture...
Multi-Pac5-27-00-2-orig.jpg

But he got... well... let's just say she's very nice looking and I can't believe how colorful she is. :D (it's the last picture in the auction description...)

Bahaha... someone did that to me once, tried using pics hosted on my own server for their auction. Replaced pic with a worded one that said "DO NOT BUY FROM ME! I AM A THIEF!"

Ok...I took the pics off that I used. Sorry to bust up the fun. I don't want to be the hypocrite! It was fun, but I just posted a generic "unauthorized" link.

Here are some of the pics I posted in case someone wants a laugh. I found them on Google doing an image search for Pac-Man.

Have fun!

Bink77...if you come back and read this, please just ask permission.

Aw... Now the lolz are over. :(

That was some funny sh*t right there. And it is amazing that he just copied and pasted the text from your site onto his auction. Love the cow picture.

If you look at his other auctions, he has a Ms. Pac board that he states is an "Easy Fix". But yet tells all the stuff he has done with it(tried this rom, replaced this and that), which is far more in depth than someone that just doesn't know how to fix it. Read the description, you'll see what I mean. But yea, he's done a bunch of tech work to it, but it's an "Easy Fix". Why not just say, "I've done a bunch of sh*t to it and it still doesn't work." Oh well....
Take a look...

I noticed this in the description....

"Below is a list of the games that it has as well as a review from jeffsgames.com. Click the link or read below.
http://www.jeffsgames.com/reviews/multipac.htm"

Was this always there?

yes it was, which I don't mind. The problem is he copied the text from that review I wrote and added it directly to the auction (just like people do with KLOV summaries). I would have authorized this if he had asked permission to do so, but as you know there are so many frauds on ebay that I don't want my site content in an auction without knowing the seller. All I need is someone saying I was associated with one that was fraudulent.

I heard back from Bink77:

Dear jeffsgames,

Hi,
sorry that your upset. I've been linking relevant sites to my auctions for over 10 years on eBay and this is the first time that I've had someone upset. I try to never abuse or exploit sites when linking to them. The Multipac is something that is hard to get info on and a lot of people don't know about it and yours was the best site that I could find to give those unfamiliar an opportunity to read up on it and understand what it had to offer.

First off when trying to email from your site I get a 404 error so I couldn't email you, secondly I personally thought that as a fellow Arcade enthusiast you might enjoy the small amount of extra traffic you got to your site as this was apperantly posted about 10 years ago. No one accept a few of us that got these things before Bally shut down Clay's production even know about them. It does appear that you put some time into the site and I'm sure put it on the net for people to see, so I never really thought that anyone would get upset. I also didn't see anything stating not to use any part of the page so please accept my apologies for assuming it would be ok.

Having said that, and that you did take the time some years back to offer your opinions, I would prefer to use the info if you don't mind. I cant see where anything negative could come from this.

<personal details removed>

Thanks and let me know what you think.
Regards, Bink

I'm perfectly fine with this and am changing the images back to original. He's a collector and no harm done.

Thanks for pointing this out to me, but I'm glad I got a reply and I'm cool with it.
