Fun Read

Pfffft.... they used a freakin model or something for SF... and SIMPSONS added? Huh? Typical drivel from people who were likely not even born when most of those cabs came out.

No doubt, because when I think of awesome arcade game cabinets I immediately think of Frogger, Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, The Simpsons, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I would've picked that Timber in the background over TMNT.

At least they got the Star Wars cockpit and EDOT on there.

Decent list, but....

......when I think of awesomest classic cabinets there would be a few things to consider:

Is 'classic' era pre-1990?

Would 'awesome' cabinets be talking about artwork, cabinet construction, controls, game play or all of the above?

Personally, I consider classic era to be pre-1990 (possibly 1987 or older being 25+ years).

As for awesome cabinets I would say artwork, cabinet construction, controls and probably not as much on the game play (but important as a collector).

My list would include (12 off he top of my head in no particular order):

1. Star Wars Cockpit
2. Tron
3. EDOT
4. Wacko
5. Tapper
6. Satan's Hollow
7. Paperboy
8. Spy Hunter Cockpit
9. Major Havoc (dedicated)
10. 720 degrees
11. Battlezone
12. Sinistar Cockpit

If I am not mistaken, that SW cockpit is in Sacramento. I went with FrankA098 several years ago to pick it up. (or deliver it...I cant remember)

The house looks familiar.

Theres another "top 50 arcade cabinets ever" list on i-mockery.com. Can't get the link now on my phone, but one of our PAC members reposted it just yesterday.
