So 2 weeks ago while on vacation I took the kids to the Utica Zoo (woo hoo!) and afterward we hit the Utica Chuck E Cheese. They had a few Atomiswave cabinets running Metal Slug, KOF, etc., but the fun games were Afterburner Climax and MarioKart Arcade GP.

They had MK there when I was there last year, but the Afterburner was new. It was a ton of fun, and a lot of movement. I just wish I could play that in a R360 rig! I once went all the way to Gatlinburgh TN to play R360 (read about it in EGM) and when I got there, there was a fire in the "space needle" and the arcade was CLOSED!

Anyway here are come picts of a fat man in a Afterburner Climax. I beat it with 2 Credits!

Im glad we dont have a Mario Kart at the Reno store I work at. I would get in trouble for playing it too much.

What's it like to work fo Chuck? What do you have at yours?

Its actually a pretty fun job. I was actually just promoted to Gameroom Attendant Trainer, so the pay is surprisingly decent. As for the games, we have dual After Burner Climax's, Deluxe Environmental Let's Go Jungle, Deluxe Aliens: Extermination, Dual Fast & Furious, Extreme Hunting, 6 1989 Skee Ball Classics, Deluxe Club Kart European Session, and others that arent worth mentioning really. Other than that, just an assload of redemptions.

Sweet! My wife was looking forward to the gorilla game where you hold the vibrating pegs in his handsfor tickets. Since she has MS the felling in her hands it pretty numb so she can play that game all day and get tons of tickets! But when we go there someone had broken the peg out of the gorilla's right hand! They don't have that game at the CEC in Lathem NY near us!

Does yours use cards, or tickets and tolkens? Utica uses cards, and Latham uses Tolkens and Tickets. The ticket game locations pay out so much more.

Yea, we have the Raging Ape at ours too. It feels good :D

I believe the card swipe system is being tested right now in only a few select locations. Personally, I prefer tokens. Reno uses tokens/tickets and I hope we never change it. Tokens and tickets are iconic to Chuck E. Cheeses and I dont think it should change.

I think I will stash a few CEC tokens next time I am at the Latham location. You never know when they will switch! I only have one Namco arcade token, I think I found a Sega Time Out token the other day in a box of stuff from HS. I also have a token that says "Games People Play" in a font kind of like westminster, but more playful. The oppisite has 2 grooves. I don't remember where I got this token.
