Full size Mortal Kombat side art

If you mean MK1 there's a few threads about this, but no not yet. The scans are out there but i believe they were stitched together (i don't remember) and they needed some final clean up. A few of us have the files (they are rather large).

Yes, MK1 is the preferred Mortal Kombat for my choice.

Somebody has to be doing this then.

What about an inkjet place? Is MameMarquees still doing stuff like that? What about ThisOldGame, can he print this stuff out?

Thanks.

That would be best if he did it, but Im not sure if he wants to. I know he expressed interest on byoac about screening the control panel sides.

But yea if he was willing to do side art I would buy a set in a heartbeat.

If you don't find someone, I may have a good file

here's an 18% sample of the file I have, it looks OK, IE unstitched

The larger file is 127MB, and can be uploaded for a short time if needed :)

Funny story about this, I have a dedicated mk1 cabinet that I drove 12 plus hours to get and had searched for, for about a year. The side art was about 85% with minimal fading. It seems mk1 side art is the worst for fading because you never see mk2,mk3,mk4 that bad. Anyway I get the mk1 and finally finish my collection of mk's as I now have them all. Well after months of playing them the nostalgia kinda wears off and with work I didnt have much time to play them. So they sit back in my den which we rarely use and I had put up dark curtains to keep light of the cabinets so fading would not occur. well fast forward about 3 months and I go in the den to fire up mk and notice the curtain behind it pulled down and the side art on one side terribly faded. My wife's damn cat got in there and she likes to climb on curtains and she pulled them down. So if anyone does find a source for mk side art im in.

Thats not the dedicated side art, its for conversion cabinets. The dedicated one has a dragon on it.

The files i have are 669mb each tiff files, and with closer inspection i see slight fading at the top "MIDWAY" and what looks like soda or something as well as a few other spots that need cleaning up. it's not perfect but it's not bad. problem with inkjet is the original artwork is screen printed and you'd lose the pixelation that came from the factory.

thisoldgame would be an excellent choice for a printer if we could get enough interest in it and got a perfect scan (or someone to spend a few hundred hours cleaning up the existing tiff files). Keep in mind it wouldn't be cheap, i know i'd need to save my nickles and tie my hands from buying for a while.

The full size art that some of us have is NOT worth your time and effort. It's slightly faded and has streaks where someone tried to clean the sides of the cabinet before taking the pics and you can see the streaks in all the black areas. I deleted the scans as soon as I got them. My MK1 (R/H Side) is MINT and if I ever get around to it, I'll take some pics and TRY to get it all looking good and share it with all who need it.
