I bought this game planning to convert it to a Q*bert, but the CP/under CP/Bezel/Mqe look really really nice, and it'd be a shame to tear off all of the art.

I offered it up to a local 'museum' but they weren't interested in trading, so I figured I'd try here before trashing the art.

It's currently missing sound (ps and amp are good, prob just bad wiring), but I'll fix that before dealing it off.

So your saying you have some extra qbert wiring that i could use for my conversion? or were you going to use the existing wiring.

Curveball

If you are really careful, you can remove the art work. I did that on one I owned. I used a hair dryer to slightly warm it and was able to peel art from the converted Qbert it was on. It would be nice if you could take a high resolution picture of the sideart to share too. That's bound to be rare.

Hello Everyone,
Mark offered this game to us as a trade for some cabaret games stored in our shop that do not belong to the museum. I was sure Mark knew those games did not belong to the museum but just to be safe I provided him with the contact information for the owner who I am 99% sure wouldn't want to trade them or sell them. I also mentioned that I have nothing to trade for this game. (note: the game was never offered for sale just trade)

A few days later, I received this PM through the forums: "Oh well... it's a qbert now...

Too bad there's not a museum around to preserve rare games."

I replied, "Amazing comment....thanks."

1. If the game is so rare then why was it stripped out to make a Q-Bert since it surely could have been sold on Ebay for $$$?
2. If the game really hasn't been stripped out and anyone here would like to purchase it and donate it to the museum (we are a 501c3 non-profit) we will gladly accept your donation and place a sign on top saying you donated it.

What would the point of offering it for sale be? You've never bought a single thing from me, only expected (more) donations.

...because in many cases, there's a big difference between 'rare' and 'valuable'. If I thought 'Woodpecker' was insanely valuable, (possibly being one of the few remaining pcbs in existence since the MAME devs destroyed the board they had trying to dump it), it wouldn't currently be on the floor at FS.

Post deleted. I am done with this and will not contribute to what will become a flame war.
