FS: working GO8 monitor any takers?

Well, now that I know that it won't burst into flame and fall into a pile of ashes like a phoenix (I've already got one of those), then I'm interested. I could use this monitor for a future Asteroids cab or for a basic ZVG setup....

Now the question is:
Is it a G05-801 or a G05-802?? :D

I wouldnt use a B/W vector for ZVG. Use color monitor the B/W games will stillbe B/W.

That's true, but B/W monitors are better for B/W games. Color monitors can play B/W games too, but that doesn't mean all of the games will look perfect.

I have a non working G08 that I would like to rebuild, but if it only looks pretty for a while and can't stay cool, then what would be the point of it? I have nowhere near enough experience to handle something so flammable.

I was thinking of going the Vectrex route for the ZVG, but it simply can't beat the refresh rate of an arcade B/W monitor.

Plus, I've been looking into getting an Asteroids Deluxe in the future. This could come in handy!

Grab it for a Asteroids Deluxe. When you build your ZVG use a 6100. Shilmover had his Multi Vector at the Seattle Show running a 6100. B/W games looked awesome!!

I'd love to get it for an Asteroids Deluxe, but I have to make sure it's a G05 first :D

I think G08's once rebuilt can be reliable. Has anyone every seen one catch on fire? Really? I'm sure one burned up one time but their are a bunch of
mods that can be done to a g08 I believe.

(I'm rebuilding one right now).

I only think that is version 1, there are 3 versions of the monitor and there's not many of version 1 that I know of these days...I just had a Star Trek rebuilt and we're running it in our arcade. Virgin game, never on location before either...

So, is there some kind of labeling to know which version of the monitor you have? Also, I'm pretty sure that the G08 is infamous for a reason. There are entire threads on KLOV of guys trying to deal with the smoke and detectors going off.

If anyone knows any realistic mods that can be done to make it more reliable, then by all means...Don't hesitate to tell the masses!

Yeah, there is a labeling for it to tell the revision...

Once you do all the stuff needed for the G08 it won't have said issues....problem is replacing and upgrading all the parts alone can be around $85

I just sent this picture to djw90 and I think that he will be able to identify this chassis.
