I just rebuilt a Wells Gardner GO8 and runs like a champ. Todd Tuckey mention earlier that this monitor was worth $450. I will sell for $400. I live in kansas City but will ship. PM me.

Also- it's G08, not GO8.

subtle, but zero vs letter O.
May help with searching. I hear it all the time when people are talking about G07s. But there is a difference in how you say something and writing it down differently.

$400 may be a little strong in my opinion.
See if Todd will pony up that much even INCLUDING shipping.

In all honesty, you should put that thing safely somewhere on a shelf for when YOU need it! Hard to come by.

Re-reading this, it sounds bitchy. Sorry about that- it's just early I guess.

Price drop

It is a Electrohome G08. $300 or best offer. If I don't get a reasonable offer I will build a Asteroids Deluxe and sell it that way.

Now that would be cool. I'd love to get an Asteroids Deluxe running on a G-08....that would be impressive.

BTW, $300 sounds like a very good price. This won't last long. I sure wouldn't sell any of mine for that.

Not trying to rain on your parade... $300 IS a good price... but I guess the fact that you:

1. Think it's manufactured by Wells Gardner
2. Think you'll use it in an Asteroids Deluxe

... make me wonder how well the rebuild turned out and how reliable the monitor actually will be. My assumption is that a rebuild and test of the monitor's performance would have cleared up the misconceptions 1 and 2 above.

just sayin'

Yeah- like I was saying, these things are probably worth more to the owners keeping them as spares.

As for Asteroids on color- I recall a hack that someone documented to give different colors to the screen objects for use with a color monitor: (actually asteroids deluxe)

http://ionpool.net/arcade/asteroids/ast-color.txt

Don't know if it could be done with Asteroids also.

I did know that you can use a color monitor with a single color game, but you may have to do some level translation and properly power the new monitor.

I apologize for asking what might be a stupid question, but why are the E-home G08's worth so much more than a V2000?

Electrohome G08 == color vector monitor
Wells-Gardner V2000 == black & white vector monitor

The V2000 is interchangeable with the Electrohone G05

The G08 is it's own beast.....well, not without a lot of work and voodoo.

Sorry for the confusion. It is a standard G05 19" Asteroids monitor.
I don't what was on my mind.

Im confused is it a color vector???

Is it a G05-801 or a G05-802??

Last rebuilt G05-801 I purchased was $185 shipped. If you have modified it to make Asteroids Deluxe color as shown in the post above Please send me a PM. Not really sure what the modified version is worth, but I might be interested. I think color on my Asteroids Mulit Kit would be Kool.

Well, now that I know that it won't burst into flame and fall into a pile of ashes like a phoenix (I've already got one of those), then I'm interested. I could use this monitor for a future Asteroids cab or for a basic ZVG setup....

Now the question is:
Is it a G05-801 or a G05-802?? :D
