It doesn't surprise me that a flipper "understands" a flippers mentality. You're not really helping.
I dont need to help him. Hes in the right.
Your wrong here, and reading through the thread, it seems most agree.

Yeah... I agree... but that doesn't make it any less of a douche maneuver. Wait at least a week or two... there is a degree of "respect" that should be given to fellow KLOVians (and others)...especially when given a kickass deal like Kalan gave the guy...
LOL - Kalan bought a cheap 720 from me and then immediately offered to flip it here for Zookeeper or another more valuable game or more money. And you know what - That's great. I'm fine with that.
I sold it cheap to Kalan because I needed the space and didn't have time to fix up TWO of them (I still have one that I'm working on). He solved my space problem, put in a working board, and turned a profit (hopefully). That's awesome for me and awesome for him. I kept the worse cabinet, but because he didn't need a board set, I got to keep working boards, so most of my restore job will be cosmetics.
There are several points here -
1. Kalan could have listed it on craigslist himself. And could have dealt with a lot more flakey buyers than people here. Or maybe not have found a buyer at all.
2. Kalan offered it here for more money and didn't get any takers. If it was such a huge steal, then it should have sold in a hot minute at the higher price.
3. Whoever bought it (I'm assuming arcade dad), did Kalan a favor by clearing out space he needed for another game. Kalan probably could have held out for longer and eventually gotten $200 (or more) for it, but there's no guarantee. Sometimes you just want something to be gone. I've given away fully working things like printers and TVs and DVD players just because I didn't want to go through the hassle of packaging and selling them on ebay (or even craigslist). Sometimes just getting the space back is more important than a few more bucks.
4. There's no guarantee that the buyer will GET what they're asking for on craigslist. They probably won't. If nobody here would buy it for $200, probably nobody will buy it on craigslist for double that. In fact, I doubt they'll get $200 for it, if Kalan didn't. Six months from now THEY might be selling it for $100 to get it out of their garage.
5. I think it's really uncool to flag someone's post for trying to flip a game. They're not stealing anything from you. If you think what they're doing is so evil, then WHY DIDN'T YOU PAY KALAN the $200 he was asking to keep it out of their hands? There's nothing illegal (or even douchey, in my opinion) about trying to buy something to make a profit on it. Haven't many people here (including myself) done dealer runs where they bought a bunch of games for $50 each and then half of them you just had to clean up and plug in and you sold them for a profit? Same principle here, but on a smaller scale.
6. Kalan - congrats on getting the Gravitar! Well worth dumping off a Vanguard for!![]()
To answer #5 - Distance. If I were within an hour or two I'd have bought it at $200 likely.
To anyone NOT in the Inland Empire... you're not getting the whole story about this guy. I'll leave it at that.
Sick. . Leave GT alone.
Dude is stellar.
Everyone has the right to buy ANYTHING and ANYWHERE they want.
They have the right to sell it, or ANYTHING they want. FOR ANY AMOUNT.
He who has not sold or flipped a game they didn't like for profit, please cast the 1st boulder.
GT made a sweeping comment. Saying all people on CL are low baller. Since I do buy from there. I just corrected his sweeping comment.
Not everyone has the right to buy or sell anything. We don't let our kids buy drugs and we don't sell Nukes to terrorists. There are rules in buying and selling.
Dude... you're talking to a guy who's actually trying to give away a "19" ARCADE MONITOR... with issues" (a broken neck).
Hey... either of you two Flippers coming to CAX? I'll buy you a beer...
Your an asshole!
If you really want me there...
Agreed. The person who bought this Vanguard and re-selling IS LIVING LIFE FOR THEM AND NOBODY ELSE also. You two have something in common.
The difference is,.nobody is pointing your deals out,.and critisizing you. Hes doing his own thing, which effects nobody but him, and there are others who dont like it.
Someone felt the need to bring this thread up and point out the "flipping" thing. Unnecessary.
Dont be so literal.
We're talking about games. GAMES. Not drugs and Nukes...and i think you know that.
DING DING!
But there is something wrong with people going into happy threads that have no negativity and shitting on them.
The same people do it to me in my threads. There are a few people who should be banned.
I for one will take you up on this.Come one... come all... CAX is a blast.
And no... I'm not pulling any kind of "we can meet and discuss this" kind of crap. CAX is about fun... not drama. Show up... tell me who you are... we'll shake hands and the first beer is on me.
