Hi. I have a Tron "Restore" listed in the restore section - for sale is that machine. I came across another candidate that i will be fixing up in the fall, so would like to sell this one now. Here are pictures of the process. Final results are toward the end of the album.

Got this in bad shape, and decided to do full tear down. Here is what was done:

1. Complete Phoenix art package installed - new sideart, shroud art, CP overlay.
2. Cabinet sanded and painted.
3. All parts cleaned completely.
4. Arcade shop power supply.
5. CD Jump board service. Switch installed to activate sound in attract mode.
6. Cab is fully blacklighted. New starters.
7. Encom bling - marquee and coin door sticker.
8. New 25 cent coin inserts.
9. Controls rebuilt with new Tron Joystick.
10. Monitor capped and repaired.
11. Light blue t molding hooked up.
12. Plays and feels great! (Most importantly).

There are probably a few other things i am leaving out. In anycase, the machine is a "Garage" restoration, so dont expect perfection on the paint job or anything - i did the best i could. I think it looks really nice, and other Klov'rs that stopped over commented the same.

I will miss the cab for a few months, but have this next one waiting to take its place.

Pricing this at 1350 OBO for now. I realize its high, but considering the shape, new parts and effort, i think its priced fairly. If it doesnt move it will be a star on Ebay.

Thanks!

Oh - Very important! The timing on this is as follows - reason for posting this now -

I know someone that is making a Upper mid west -> Northeast -> Upper mid west journey next weekend that may be able to hook up anyone interested with good shipping prices. This person is bringing me a few pins, so, he can pick this game up and most likely deliver to you at a fair cost .

Not high enough in my opinion, my next restored one is going to be much higher than that. Mine might be a bit more anal than what you have but these machines are nothing short of one gigantic pain in the ass to restore. My buyer can't wait to get ahold of it and i can't wait to check it off the list as i will never restore another one.

Now watch your thread die and nobody agree with me, welcome to KLOV and good luck with your sale.

I am in NY area, 10543 zip. The Shipper may be passing through Georgia (down to Florida) but thats depending on a pin deal i am working out. I should know more after the 4th.

Chris, thanks for your note. I thought if anything i would get flack for offering it to high (around here you know?).

I even got a few mails insisting i raise the price! I didnt factor my time into the sale price, mostly the parts, just to break even. I may be eating a hundred or so.

I agree though this took up ALOT of my time. I also agree that my "restoration" is not nowhere at the level of others, so thats a factor - i am by no means an expert, just trying to make the cab as nice as when i got it in, so i factor that in too. Judge by the pics - i tried to capture it all in the albums.

In anycase, to be fair the price stands for now. I am also wanting a PLAYCHOICE 10 for my kids - so i will take that in a trade too (more so want one of those than anything - hook me up with a nice playchoice!). If i dont get any interest in a day or so, i will let Ebay decide.

i will say this cabinet is really nice for a restoration. i can see you had invest around 700 KIT to add and restore your TRON.

I just got my Tron last sunday and your picture is really nice and giving me more details to think ahead what i need to do before i decide to restore.. WHOOAAA 13 days. KUDOS!!! it takes alot of patience and time too.

Nice Job!!!!.. Blue Tmolding is really nice but i prefer Black Tmold for some reason!.

again.. good job.

i have a unisystem avilable with super mario installed if interested. i think i may be able to get a playchoice 10 unit also from a friend who has one in storage. pm if interested.

Update. Two playchoice trades dont seem to be happening - would of liked to have closed them out before the shipper (at good rates!) is making his journey.

Cut off is Wednesday - anyone that has a Playchoice single or double - contact me! We can put the value toward the Tron.

I did get a couple of cash offers above my asking price (guess i did price it low) - but not taking them now while i hold out to see if a Playchoice is possible.

I am also mulling Ebay since that may let the market decide what this thing is worth...

Update. The shippers path of travel can be found at this link:

http://www.mapquest.com/?version=1.0&hk=1-9EP4Q79Y

I am point N - meaning the closer you are to his path after N, the better discount you get on shipping after the pickup. My cutoff for informing him is tomorrow night (Wednesday the 6th).

The higher offers were too far off the path of travel. I "raised" my asking price based on that by a hundred, but since then i have a lead on a Playchoice on the way in, i would love to have the Tron picked up, so willing to work it out.

Also, i have a Full manifesto of good / bad points of the cab for anyone seriously interested, in the spirit of full disclosure i will send that over upon request.

Thanks!

Tron is now sold to a good home. Thanks everyone for the interest.

As noted, i will be in front of another to fix up near the end of the year, so will enjoy my time off!

Good deal for someone. Not sure if I like the blue t-moulding but it was fitting and a good match for new movie. I figure you could have gotten a lot more. Trons are expensive to restore. I think I have about $2K into the one I bought, and restored and not regretting it. The last one I had I sold 12 years ago for a good buck with no sideart and not restored. It is a good collector game and fun if you like Tron. I would say $1500 up minimal for a restored Tron.
