Offering this as a package first, and if no interest, I'll break it up. $225 plus shipping.

- Pair of Tapper joysticks. Missing the e-rings that hold the shafts in place. New repro Bud labels for the tap handles.
- Red Midway joystick
- Complete cp wiring harness (note that start buttons one and two are missing and thus the harness is cut where those buttons attach)
- Repro cpo, the nice silkscreened ones that MXRacer had done
- Root Beer Tapper board set. Has sound issues. Sometimes sounds cut in and out, some sounds don't sound right, etc. I bought the boardset as "working" from someone on KLOV, but when I finally got my Tapper working months later, had the sound issues. My bad for waiting to test, and the guy has always been a really honest seller. Anyhoo....I did notice one of the sound rom sockets was loose when I first had the problem, but when I took it out to take pics, they all seemed to be on there pretty solid. Who knows.

A big thanks for the leg up on my Black Tiger, soon to be reborn as a Tapper thanks to you. Really good meeting you. Hope the tea party went well ;) Before I left my house tonight I said to my wife "that 10:15 to Nutley ain't goin' nowheres without yours truly behinds the wheel." She had no idea what I was talking about.

Nice pickup

Saw that Black Tiger at Timonium...was hoping it could be restored to a Tapper. It has the color sideart underneath. Do you plan on scraping the black paint off? How much did that sell for...I'm guessing super cheap?

I'm also restoring my tapper. Would you let me know how you plan on doing the cup holders and foot rest? Where are you getting your boards for Bud Tapper or are you going to keep it Root Beer?

Here is a thread on removing the paint http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=55887. JC found it. I am hoping the stickers will come off as well. I am pretty sure a rom switch will get me from root beer to bud. As far as the brass goes, maybe polish or paint. I am just happy to have the brass. The bezel will be a challange, and the marquee, but they do come up from time to time. Right now just getting it playing Tapper would be enough to tide me over.

Awesome. I have a spare Tapper marquee if you need one...bought from TNT a few years back.

How much did you get the black tiger for...under $100?

If you don't mind me chiming in, I used Rustoleum Metallic Brass spraypaint on the cup holders with a high gloss clear coat. Came out nice. I can send you pics if you like. And very cool of you to offer the marquee to Dan. Dan, snatch that bad boy up!

You can also check out my exploits with Citrustrip on my SWCP...

...it also had stickers. Be careful with their removal. I tried a hairdryer and I got pretty good by the end, but I still had a few mishaps. It is possible that by leaving the Citrustrip on the stickers a bit longer would be enough to soften them up for scraping, too.

Thanks for the link, some very helpful info, and a very cool project. I am hoping that i can work the citrustrip on the edges of the stickers and peel them off slowly. I tried a heat gun on a corner and the paint under the sticker seemed like it was melting, but I think it was affecting the sideart underneath. Maybe it was just too much heat. I like your approach of doing the paint removal in sections.
