FS: STRIDER PCB working 100% (Capcom 1989/CPS1/Jamma)

In the next week or two I will be going through some my parts stash and trying to find a new home for anything I don't plan on keeping long-term for my collection.
Some of this stuff I've had stashed away for years and its finally seeing the day of light again!

FOR SALE:
STRIDER (Capcom 1989) PCB SET
CPS1 / JAMMA
Plays great, tested 100%.
I will test one more time in depth not only to assure quality, but to try and beat it one last time!

I'm asking $200 / SHIPPED in the USA. I will package and ship solid, not half-assed, loose and bouncing around.

Sounds steep?
The last one sold on ebay JUNE 8th, $229 + $16 shipping TOTAL = $245. Item #150614082957

I'd like to get 80% of the EBAY total. I've watched these boards for years and they consistantly pull over $200 plus shipping.

Paypal, Money Order or Cash please. PM me if you're interested.

I have a partially-working STRIDER board.

It's a fun game.

My board needs two parts to work as good as new: (1) a bottom board ($20, shipped), and (2) a new ST-11 ROM ($16, shipped). The ST-11 ROM is the big, black ROM chip in Socket #8 on the top board.

If you, or anyone else, has these STRIDER board parts for sale, please feel free to PM me..

Thanks

Sorry, I don't have a parts board or I'd let it go cheap...

Strider is such a crazy ass game its brutal tough but cool with its colorful and unique ackward gravity effects and grapling jump moves.

I'm not sure if I was ever able to beat it or not... Before I box it up when it sells I want to do a couple solid late night hours and see if I can beat it or if it still kicks my ass everytime!

A few members worked on a CPS1-CPS3 pricing guide and it looks my initial asking price is right inbetween their estimated PCB value for strider INCLUDING my shipping to your door.

I would have never guess it was such a hard to find game until I was looking for one myself!

Hey Jake, thanks and glad to see you're still kickin' it!

My only Vs. Stuff I can think of off the top of my head is an NOS VS. Pinball marquee never installed that I can tell, great shape (overlay)...

And somewhere I have an NOS Super Mario Bros. Marquee that has only seen about 15 minutes of daylight in its life and never installed. I can't find it though!!! I almost think I might have left it on top of a machine that I sold last year! Oh Sh-t! Either that or its around here somewhere and I haven't stumbled on it, but its pretty large being two feet long!

Its all good and I'm still round let me know if ya ever come round these parts on one of your epic drives..It'll be interested to see what comes out of your housecade..

Here's a pic of the Strider PCB. It's nice and clean, no acid damage, layers of crud or nasty spills on the PCB.

Strider is such an awesome game. I suggest you don't start playing it again or you might fall in love and not want to sell it!

It's definitely beatable, although it takes some practice, especially stage 5. I can beat it with one life on the hardest difficulty. Here's a tip: in the first stage, try to get two options (the flying robots) on your last two life bars (furthest to the left). That will help out a lot.

Good luck on the sale, Strider is probably my favorite arcade board.

The STRIDER PCB is still available if anyone wants it. Awesome game as mentioned above, but its going to ebay after this weekend if it doesn't sell on teh KLOV.

i prefer the original game. there is something about it, and the music is great. it has some fairly hard parts but once you learn the patterns of enemies and bosses it isn't too bad. a classic for sure. i play through it every once in a while.

That STRIDER board is a CONVERSION board. The eBay seller says so in the eBay auction listing--:Japanese resale conversion board." IMHO, the sellers board looks like an SFII-CE or HF board with all eeproms set up to run like a JAPAN STRIDER 2nd release board. Just compare the seller's board pic. in the last auction pic. to the O.E.M. JAPAN STRIDER 2nd Release board.

1. "Strider Hiryu" pcb set, Capcom, CPS1, JAMMA http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...=1&_fvi=1&si=x5tghqhPXigy%2BLgoDOjdiNfX1RM%3D (Notice the JAPAN STRIDER TITLE SCREEN.) (And, notice that this board does not have any silkscreening on the board that indicates a 4M JEDEC EP-ROM TYPE.)
2. O.E.M. JAPAN STRIDER 2nd Release board. http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=33946&start=30 (Third board pic. from the top.) (Notice that this board has silkscreening on the board that indicates a 4M JEDEC EP-ROM TYPE.)

IMHO, US $229.00 (+shipping) is a lot of money to pay for a CONVERSION board.

That's one lazy bootlegger too. He didn't even bother to cover the eprom windows. There's been a lot of bootleg conversions lately on ebay, strider, ghouls (daimakaimura), and progear. Too bad the original boards haven't popped up as often.

yeah and those are all from the same guy.... not only that but he is charging absolute top dollar for them as well. In fact, everything he sells is ridiculously overpriced, I cant imagine he makes any sales on ebay. I guess ebay is where uninformed buyers go...

If your thinking about getting a STRIDER board, now is the time to make FullThrottle an offer on his board--before he puts it up for sale on eBay.
