Following a "suggestion" (challenge?) from another post (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=124430) and not wanting to step on that for sale post...

Star Trek PCB in cage, tested & fully working. I can send you a movie w/sound of it working (although it will take me a few days to get to my buddy's house to do this). I'll run a continuous-on burn in test too (at least 4 hours). $300 shipped.

Let the low ball offers and price police begin. Go ahead, I don't care; if you are afraid of being banned because of a price police post, I'll go on record right now to the mods, I accept any price police posts to this FS, please don't ban them.

I'm right behind you brother-

Since I was in the thread that you remarked about, I won't consider this leeching, poisoning, hijacking, or any of that-
(http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=1099313#post1099313)

Maybe most of these guys don't remember the glory of a fully working Star Trek. The cockpit is just awesome, but there are plenty of standups worthy of honor also. The music and speech are what MAKES this game: the coin drop music, Spock's greeting, and those Klingon, starbase, and finally Enterprise intros- that just puts me in the zone-

- then BAM- it's on- shooting Klingons from one sector to another until you're overrun.

Don't bust up another cabinet- fix your game. Everybody cries about the G08 monitors, but they're good looking and very robust once they're repaired.

Fix that power supply and replace burned connectors, or rig up a switching supply. After that, you should be golden.

Get yourself some boards. I don't hear people asking for them often, but see them bid up over $100 'untested' - what kind of gamble is that when you can get a working set for $300?

I think there are too few vector lovers or people are scared of all the flaming monitor hype.

Good luck Joe- send me your 2nd buyer

Kerry

I think someone's best chance for cheap boards for this game is to buy a complete upright dedicated or converstion that's missing the monitor. They seem to sell for $175 around here. Then you can sell off the other parts from the cab and just maybe get your boards for free, sans repair costs.

The captain's chair is the way to go with this game.

I have a captains chair, and its the best. Love it. Its mine alone. When I have company over or sons friends over and they play the games they ask me why isnt this one on. I tell them its broke, not working......hahahah

Lower Price: Star Trek PCB Tested & Working

Star Trek PCB in cage, tested & fully working. I can send you a movie w/sound of it working (although it will take me a few days to get to my buddy's house to do this). I'll run a continuous-on burn in test too (at least 4 hours).

Price lowered to $265 shipped.

How hard would it be to convert the PCB to Zektor, would it just be a ROM swap (how many ROMs?)
How about the sounds?
Thanks
Jeff

ROM swap, different sound board, and another security chip.

Actually, the algorithm was cracked for the security. Based on this, you can change the security chip to a passthrough mode and alter the ROM sets to be 'unencrypted'.

This is how the G08 multigame came to be- unencrypted romsets. I don't know if they were ever posted though. MAME emulates the proper security chip, so uses the original encrypted ROMS. The algorithm is out there for anybody to exploit-

'let him who hath understanding recon the number of the beast'

I think the explanation of the encryption key is in the MAME source or on ionpool
