FS - Splatterhouse PCB - Working

Makes me sad I passed-up an entire Splatterhouse game years ago for $100. :( I was looking for a Galaga 88 PCB at the time (still am!) and thought about converting it. On that note, does anyone have a link to the Splatterhouse or Pac-Mania to Galaga 88 PCB conversion technical info?

Agreed. I want the game too, but the price is too much for me. Plus I would want the marquee.
Of course I have the new 360 version of Splatterhouse and it includes the original arcade version. So at least I get to play it that way.
Hope you get it sold!

I have to admit I thought about keeping this board....I never played the game until recently...very cool game. I really liked the rain and lightning/thunder scene...cool sounds.

I wonder why the game was never widely released...so much better than alot of terds that were released.

I also want to know what drugs the programmers were on when developing this game!

It's a cool game. I didn't keep it when I had one because my wife said the organ music in it was like fingernails on a chalk board to her. I do have to admit I did have a headache after playing it for a while.

The main issue with it was the amount of violence and gore (at the time). Somehow it offended some self appointed watchdog groups who hauled it up in front of Congress as an example of what is wrong with kids and video gaming and the manufacturer decided to cut their losses and stop selling them.

Knowing a bunch of Japanese programmers, it was probably coffee, cigarettes and sake.

Various estimates have indicated that there were less than 100 were sold and obviously even fewer survived.

Less than 100 boardsets (kits) sold? I sold a working boardset last year for $375. It really helped in funding some projects and buying art, so that was cool.

Very fair price for a good working Splatterhouse.

Not trying to derail your sale thread, but there is nothing other than the PCBs here in the US that support the idea that it was ever released in the US officially. The marquee doesn't even have Namco's logo on it, though their other marquees do, as does all of the Jap. artwork. It is my belief that the PCBs were sold here illegally, hence the start up screne saying for use in Japan.

And if you think the audio is cool (or annoying, depends on your POV) now, try switching it over to output stereo and crank it up!
