I'm at the auction today and there are some rare games here and this is one of them. Not mine but I will bid on it for someone if they really want it. Call me at 972.81fore.fore027. Got about 3 hours before they get to it

I ended up buying it. Not really wanting to state what I paid for it. It is currently for sale and have 2 interested buyers as of now. It was inexpensive but it is a large cabinet to move and probably why there wan't a lot of interest in it.

Pat, any chance you have a floppy disc for the 4-player Hot Rod?

I have a 4 player Hot Rod machine in Paramount, CA that won't boot up. It worked properly when I bought it (over 5 years ago) but once we got it home it would never boot. My guess is the disc/drive got jolted or scratched.

I've been sporadically trying to get it fixed since then with no luck, any chance you might be able to help?
Thanks
Matt

Have you tried replacing the disc drive? It's just a regular old floppy drive. Also, Sega System 24 boards I believe, can make you a back up of your game.

I have a Gain Ground and there's an option in my test menu to rewrite the contents of the game to the disc. I haven't actually tried it yet, but this could be a good place to start. As far as I know, the only thing you really need to worry about is those proprietary chips.

If that drive copying thing doesn't work, MAME has Hot Rod roms that you can easily extract and write the disc image to a floppy with. Find a local electronics surplus sale and you'll be swimming in floppy drives before you know it!

Hope this helps!
