Up for sale, my Rowe R-89 juke with 200 selections, and 100 era-correct 45 RPMS. Nice juke runs great, with many brand new parts. Central Ohio - will not ship. Currently hooked to an external amp - read the story below.
Here's the good and the bad...
The Good:
-New Computer this fall - see date on sticker in picture
-New Controller this fall - see date on sticker in picture
-New Optical Sensor - same date as Controller
-New Needle - same date as controller
The Bad:
-The Amp is not producing music. I do hear amp hum, which makes me think it's the pre-amp card gone bad. Pre Amp card is $125, or a complete refurb amp from ABJukebox is $300.
-The speakers seem to be ok, but cannot gurantee as I have no amp installed right now. The foam around the subs is deteriorated, but also appear to be functional.
-The Title board plastic frame is a little warped on the left side - makes me think the juke was in a bowling alley or a big building and was run full blast all the time (amp heat).
-Dollar bill changer is missing. The lower part is there, just missing the upper acceptor piece.
-The digit pad is showing some wear and could stand to be replaced - still works, just worn out a little. See pix.
The Story:
Bought the juke in southern Ohio. Ran great when I tested it, but volume would not go down; full blast all the time. Paid the guy, loaded it up and drove home carefully. Got it home, fired it up and it played one record then quit. Called AB Jukebox (Bruce - great dude) and he stepped me through some basic troubleshooting. Bottom line, spent $300 in parts and it works great - wired to an external amp.
So I paid $300 for the juke, paid $300 more for parts and it needs an amp. But if you already have a stereo in your ManCave/LadyLair, just plug it into it and you're good to go. The juke is also filled with 100 pretty damn good rock titles from the early 80's to mid-90's. Can send a list of the titles if needed. They are all freshly printed and correctly indexed to the records.
Asking $600 or may take trades on Racing arcades - currently looking for a pair of Daytona USA's, Rush the Rock Alcatraz, Rush 2049, Dance Dance Revolution, or mechanical basketball game like Pop-A-Shot.
