Would like to sell the board, pla/prom and Riptors kit for 325 shipped. I paid post order pricing and just want what I have in it back out. I just don't have the time and could use the money for other arcade related things.

Thanks,
Todd

This should be a quick sale and a no-brainer for some lucky KLOV'r. I believe a couple people had expressed interest in one recently.

A masterful work of reproduction by :hail:Tronic, with proven field results.

Free BUMP for teh awesomeness :D

I was considering picking this up, but... aren't there going to be a lot of reproduction parts that are already no longer available? Misc. brackets, marquee, control panel, overlay, sideart, front art, etc.?

Do a little forum searching and you will find repro marquee, cab, cp, cpo, glass retainer, artwork, etc. You CAN build a complete "Faux Quantum".

I'd have figured a few of those were KLOV-exclusive-print-to-order-only type deals that I missed out on (including the PCB blank).

Oh well, not a big deal.

If anyone wants to put together a working repro board or complete repro game for sale, I'd be interested.

I had about 6 or 7 extra over what was prepaid for, but those sold shortly after I shipped the pre-paids. Surprised me actually since I figured I would be hanging onto them for a while.

That is somewhat surprising. I guess once people started seeing that the whole enchilada was really gonna happen they decided to take the plunge. I know when I saw the repro board blanks come out I was thinking, "no way will every piece come out to do this," but here we are.

If another one pops up and the art packages are still available maybe I'll still do this. I need to give the game a few plays in MAME though as well. As much as it doesn't seem like a shitload of cash for such an impressive feat of reproduction, I guess it's not chump change either (would be, what, about $1500-2000 to put one together with a repro Amp?).

As cool as this project is I wish that someday we could get repro Akka Arrh, Marble Man, or Missile Command 2 machines. That will probably never happen I guess, but its a nice dream.

Is not VectorLabs supposed to be coming out with a fully built faux Quantum PCB? Takeman has run the Quantum CP, brackets, and grills twice now and P1001 has run the CPO twice. Phoenix Arcade for the art.

Sadly though if you wait for everything, you probably end up with nothing. ;)

You could also do VectorMAME and a ZVG card.

Hm but in the case of this project nothing may be better than a partial. :) Reselling parts may or may not be tough on this one.

Besides if I do some quick figuring:

side/front art ~ $300
cabinet ~ $375 (local pickup from OU_Flight)
CPO ~ $60?
PCB built out ~ $400?
repro Amp ~$350 (not even sure on this one honestly...)
panel ~ $75
marquee ~$60?
misc. brackets ~ $75?
power supply assy., harness, etc. ~$200?

Kind of on the steep even if it would be a hella sweet game for bragging rights. If I got it all together and ended up even one part short I'd be devastated.

EDIT: Urgh, just realized I'm shitting on the OP's sale thread. Sorry, sorry.

Shitting on the thread or not, you're figures are realistic for building this game and add another $100 for the unexpected. I'm building one of these, my cost is around that figure and it's already sold before i've made damn sure it was guaranteed sold before i even begin the build.

Not crapping on this thread - the original intent (selling a quantum PCB) was met.

If you buy everything you need outright that's realistic at what you are looking at. But if you can come up with a donor vector game like space duel, you have the monitor, harness (mod it), power supply, AR, and other guts. If you can do it by trade you have reduced your build cost even more.

Like anything else, this is a labor of love. But boy it will be a beauty when it is done. I just like Quantum and I like pristine games (you can blame Takeman for that :D). Not looking to sell it but be a part of my permanent collection. However, anything is for sale if someone comes up with the correct price....

i'm collecting all the parts to build two complete working quantums. Not sure what you sold yours for Chris, i'm starting mine out at 4K

The guy i'm selling mine too has spent many many thousands (cash) with me over the years including the purchase of my havoc so i'm giving him a bit of a break on mine at $3K Several parts going into this game have cost me nothing so i'm sharing the love a little.

It's definitely not a build attempt for the faint of heart or pocket. :)
