I figured I would post this up here before going to eBay. My PS3 overheated and got the YLOD a couple weeks back. Since then, I have bought myself a new PS3 so I have this one sitting in the game room. Here's the details...

- 60 GB launch model PS3 (backwards compatible through the PS2 Emotion chip...not through emulation).
- Has the original 60 GB hard drive back in it (I put the big HDD into my new system)
- Has not been opened (still has warranty sticker in place and unbroken).
- Power Cord.
- Standard A/V Cord.
- I have not tried any remedies to fix this (no heat gun trick or anything) so I didn't mess anything up more than it already is.
- Console has some light scratches on the case, but overall is very nice condition for a launch model.

I'm looking to get $80 shipped for this. I am not including a controller but I do have an extra USB charge cable (it's short, but it works). PM me if you are interested. Thanks!

SOLD SOLD SOLD

Here are some pix of the console...

Nice. I'm sure someone could use this.

I'm more interested in that sign hanging above it ;)

I got out of this kind of repair work, but someone needs to buy this! Good price, for what should be easy to fix if you have the time to tear it down.

I thought the sign reflecting in the PS3 was a nice touch. I got that one day walking into a game store when the attendee asked me if I was interested in anything. I said "Games no, but that PlayStation neon possibly." He said "$50 and it's yours, but only if you have cash." I pulled out $50 and he took it off the wall and loaded it into my car.

That's awesome.

I have one of those PS1 neons and I love it.

I would pick up this PS3 in a heartbeat, but I just dropped all my spending money on something else...

If you happen to have it in March I may be able to... but don't hold me to it.

I don't plan to go to eBay for a while. I figure that I will exhaust my efforts on here first. I don't sell much on eBay anymore and I've come to find out that life is much easier without eBay. I'll update this thread if it sells or if it goes to eBay.

I have a similar story regarding my PS3 sign (not neon tho) with a store that was having a closing sale. Typically people aren't ready for when people want to buy things that aren't their normal product.

Yeah, the guy was thrown off a bit by my comment. I think he took a second and realized that I was saying that I still wanted to spend money in the store. He still has a big N64 neon and a PS box light so eventually I might hit him up for one of those. That won't be for a long time though (I have lots of work to do in my game room).

4.00, but you will need an SD Card, Compact Flash Card, MS Pro Duo Card, thumbdrive, or external hard drive with the latest firmware (4.10) to boot it up as I put the 500 GB hard drive that was in it into my new system. This system has the original 60 GB HDD in it now.

What consoles are you looking for?

I don't have anything in particular I am actively seeking. However, I love video games so I am open to offers. I have always wanted a Vectrex. I love the SNES and Sega CD. The only consoles I have right now is the PlayStation 3 and an NES.
