I absolutely love your 80s nostalgia corner. Especially the Shogun Warriors at the top. Are those from your childhood or have you picked them up over the years?

Thanks Vector, Pinbot survived the trip to it's new home and is up and running again. (The right flipper problem returned.... worked for about five minutes... I'll take care of that shortly.) My six year old had not played pinball before, except for the built-in Pinball game in Windows) and was fascinated! He played for more than 2 hours straight. Readers of this forum will be pleased to note that he thinks it is even better than his Wii!

A couple of questions for the experts:

The digital displays looked like double sided tape was used to fasten the display to the PCB and then there may have been some strapping tape across the top (or maybe that was a 'fix' added later.) On several of the displays the tape has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. What is the correct way, and the correct material to refasten the displays to the PCB? Is the strapping tape original or added as a 'fix'?

Were the two locks originally keyed the same or different? If I wanted to have original style locks, what make/model would I be looking for? Source? (The ones in it may be original.)

I'll probably need some flipper parts and it looks like the rubber parts were grey. (Some have apparently been replaced with white ones.) What is the recommended source for flipper parts and for rubber parts in grey? (Apologies if these questions have already been covered previously.)

Most of the rubber rings appear to be grey. Assuming grey is the correct original color, is there a source for them?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...... The photos on www.ipdb.org by Kevin McHugh also show white rings with red on the flippers. On my machine they are all grey (I think it is black, actually). So, the question is, was this factory or a field modification/"upgrade"?

Has anyone seen black rings on an original Pinbot before?

Looks like www.gameroomguys.com sells "Pinbot Pinball Machine Black Rubber Ring Kit-Willilams" P/N PRK-Pinbot Black so either it is original or it is popular?

www.thepinballwizard.net sells "Pinbot Rubber Ring Kit White RBKT-0032". In their description it says "White rubber rings with red flipper rubbers are the factory original color."

Would appreciate any expert guidance if you know...

Your welcome gmadden,

i am glad it went to you. take good care of it for me. sorry about the right flipper assembly.
let me know if you are interested in my centipede.

cheers, dave

I ran the diagnostic last night and it looks like it is a flipper button problem. There are two other stuck switches that need attention. Should be an easy fix. (Famous last words...). Might have a segment or two out on the displays. Needs a few light bulbs. Pretty typical for this vintage machine...
