FS OT: Nintendo Famicom (Complete In Box) + Namcot Star Wars Game (CIB) - SF Bay Area

This is an original Japanese Nintendo Famicom and Star Wars Famicom game by Namcot. I acquired both from Japan. The Famicom was the first home console released by Nintendo and the predecessor of the NES, its US counterpart. Namcot (Namco) Star Wars was never released in the US and differs greatly from the NES version released by JVC.

Everything is original, complete, tested and working.

Nintendo Famicom (Fair condition):

- Nintendo Famicom Box (Cover and Styrofoam) - Some wear around the creases.
- Nintendo Famicom Console - Clean and good condition.
- Nintendo Famicom Controllers (2 built into console) - Some scratches around the buttons.
- TV/Antenna Adapters
- A/C Adapter
- Instruction Booklets

Star Wars Game by Namcot (Great Condition - Japan Only Release):

- Box, Cartridge and Instruction Booklet.

Note: The console is only fully compatible on an old Japanese TV or it needs to be modified with A/V out. I never chose to do either as I acquired these to serve as collector pieces. EDIT: It may work on a VHF/UHF TV with the US R/F Connector and the channel set at 97-99 or so. Though my old TV doesn't go to 97-99. When I tested it, I got full audio but black and white video. It may depend on your TV.

$100 shipped

Also you can use these with a regular US "TV / Game" RF adaptor. You just need to set your TV to channel 97/98 or thereabouts. Even better if you have a TV set with the VHF/UHF dials :)

That's how I tested it to see if it was working, but like I said, I don't think it's fully compatible. I tested it with my VHF/UHF TV and could only get it working in black and white. The audio worked fine. I think it depends on your TV. From what I know, a lot of Famicom collectors hard mod their consoles with A/V or Composite Out. But it requires a lot of wiring and soldering and you have to cut a hole in your Famicom which is something I would never do to a collector's piece.

Yeah some TVs are definitely more finicky than others - the A/V would be the optimal way to go. Either way - BUMP!

End of the week bump!
