Purchased new in 1981 for Broadway pizza (Shoney's Pizza). Serial number #1406. Went to the owners home after 3 months on location, where it lived until 4 months ago. This machine is a solid 8 out of 10. It's just great. Everything is original - nothing needs to be redone on the cab's exterior.

Some notes:

  • Wells Gardner V2000 monitor, has been completely rebuilt. Rebuild included cap kit, resistor mod, and new high voltage diode.
  • Control panel overlays are mint.
  • Spinner controls work flawlessly.
  • PCB has been serviced, and the battery has been removed. NO CORROSION. It should provide years of reliable service. See pics for details.
  • Spare boardset included!!
  • Manuals included, both game and monitor.
  • Coin acceptors and door are flawless, everything is intact.
  • Monitor is bright, clear, and vectors are flawless.
  • A few small dings on the cabinet exterior, pics show these.
  • One break in the P1 CP t-molding.
  • A few very light scratches on the table top.
I cannot stress how much this table impresses me. I've never seen a cocktail in this condition having NOT undergone extensive restoration with tons of parts replaced. She's all original, and boy does she look good.

I will be headed to the Twin Cities metro area several times over the next few weeks/months, and would be willing to deliver this cab to the right person, provided an adequate deal can be arranged. I will be at gorfchampion's party on 10/15, and at the MOMA auction at the end of Oct if anyone would like to meet up for the exchange.

I will list 10 pics here, but over 2 dozen pics AND a video can be seen here:

$500 takes it.

Color me interested...

Not 100% set on it, but definitely interested. I need to think on this a bit.

Two words: museum-worthy.

Thanks for that. I was surprised when I was able to get this from the owner. Total spur of the moment purchase on my birthday this year. To be honest, I'm retarded for letting it go, but I've always been a 'player's machine' kind of guy, and this cab is too nice for me to keep in my arcade. I'm not saying I don't appreciate having a nice cab, but I love grabbing well used machines and getting them 100% working again, playing them to my heart's content, and then letting them go.

This cabinet is too nice for me to keep around. It really belongs with someone who can appreciate it for what it is: a collector's item.

Thanks, everyone for all the interest in this cab - it's currently on hold with a deposit paid, and pending delivery this Sunday. Will report back after this weekend.

Thanks!

Yeah I'd love to have this machine myself. Played it at CAX finally and absolutely loved the concept. Graphics are sweet. I actually think this game is better in cocktail form. If you still have it when we meet up, perhaps we could make a trade/cash deal.

If you think that is cool, you should play a cockpit version!

Congrats ont he sale.

On what planet is that an 8/10?!?!?!!?!? Looks pretty much factory to me! A little scuff here and there on the T-molding probably got that in the shipping crate or on the line. Maybe an 8/10 if you were comparing it to a Phetstoration. ;)
