FS: Nylon Casters for Arcade Games

Last edited:
Dang, Todd, you don't fool around -- the casters arrived here today, about 2 days after I ordered them from you.

Great job!

Put a few on some cabinets last night and they glided accross my garage floor.. even my Operation wolf and 4 player cabinet..

=)

I've never set one over on its back to do something like this before. The lightest game I have is 300 lbs. I can't imagine doing it myself?

Did you do yours yourself?

Pfft...300lbs ain't nuthin'!

I went and picked up a Race Drivin' compact BY MY SELF.... i had help getting it in the truck, but I got it out of the truck and in to the garage all by my lonesome. I don't know why they call it a compact...the bastage is 485 lbs!!!

Damn -- I know I couldn't do that!

That's about the same weight as my Gauntlet Legends, IIRC -- I can barely lift it myself to get the nylon moving pads under it... no way I could unload and move it into the garage myself...

It helps being 6'4" and 295lbs (though at the time of purchase I was up to 310-315)...

Oh...and guess which game is scheduled to get some nylon feet action? That's right...the Race Drivin'...so I'll have to lay the bastard down AGAIN and re-lift it AGAIN...grrr...and it's top heavy being the monitor is up top facing down.

You don't have to set them on their backs to change the levelers (although that is usually the easiest way). Tilt the game back enough so you can shove a 2x4 under there to prop it up, then you can reach under there and change out the front levelers. Set it back down and then repeat the procedure for the rear levelers.

Ooh, that's a good idea... I'll give it a shot tomorrow. :)

Heh, I didn't really want to suggest this for fear of someone tipping a game over or a game falling on someones hands while doing this... you have been warned!

Yes, good point. You should have another person there to hold the game steady while you do this. I've done it alone, but it can be a bit scary. Some games can be very tippy at that point.

Or... Put game near a wall (Like 12" away from) so that the direction you tip it - will hit the wall if it were to fall... And only fall a very minuscule amount...

And I think a 4x4 would work better than a 2x4... Unless you mean putting the 2x4 vertically...?

Thanks Todd! I got two sets. Well packaged and super speedy shipping.

I have wall to wall carpet with pad and the games slide like a dream- HUGE improvement over replacement metal levelers. I should have bought more.

I use the lean against the wall technique- it's safe and easy.
