FS: NOS Monroe Joystick (for Gyruss, Time Pilot, Etc.)

KLOV search results turned up an asking price of $90.00 Shipped.

Let's start there.

Brand new, never installed in anything. Minor surface scratches on balltop from being stored. Picture make scratches look way worse than they do in person. In fact, I didn't even notice the scratches until the flash of the camera discovered them.

I would not sell my NOS Monroe stick for $90.

Now if someone posted and said they'd sell their NOS Monroe joystick for $80 they'd get blasted for stealing someone's FS post and/or being price police. Why aren't people complaining about this? Isn't this basically price police, but in the other direction? (Aaron, this isn't at all directed towards you, just reverse price-police posts in general).

Allan Bakke, where are you when we need you?

I think the difference is this post helps the seller by explaining to people that the asking price is a good deal.

i think he meant that in the first picture posted one of the leaf switches appears to have a tab missing (the switch right above the "Monroe Electronics" stamp.) but as can be seen in later pictures the tab is indeed there, just hiding behind the other one.

personally, i think $90 for an NOS Monroe shipped is more than reasonable and if i hadn't recently purchased a nice used one this'd already be on it's way to my house.

That is correct, and I stand corrected.

I think a NOS Just sold On Greed Bay For less than 20.00

Yeah, but that one didn't include shipping. The shipped price was $22.85, which is about what used ones seem to go for.

Cheap ass klovers; I'm going to ebay to sell my stuff...oh wait, things are worth 4 times as much here.

I have never understood the price police thing either. It is OK to try to help the seller get the most money for an item, but bad to warn buyers that they might be overpaying.

I think that price is an aberration and not the going rate. I've paid $80 plus shipping on one from eBay and that has always seems like the going rate.

Yeah, that was a smokin' deal! I can't believe I missed that....

I sold some nice Monroe sticks years ago for around $25 each. I kinda wish I'd kept them. I kept a NOS one for the day I got a decent Time Pilot, but the stick that was on it was in nice shape and cleaned up well, so I didn't use the NOS one on it. I eventually put the NOS stick on my multi-Konami machine.

I have no problems with the NOS price Steve is asking. Good luck with the sale!

Sorry, slightly OT- Matt, did you use anything special to clean up the stick?

I tear the stick completely apart, get every spec of grease and grime off the parts with a strong solvent/degreaser (like carb cleaner), polish every metal part with a metal polish and 0000 steel wool, clean off any polish residue with solvent (I usually use a silicone spay to do this), lube all pieces with a Teflon grease, and reassemble. As good as new (actually, sometimes even better than new... they feel better once broken in a bit).
Oh, and don't forget the polish the ball top with some Novus 2.

Thanks again man!

OT, but does anyone think these would be good on a multi-williams? I have two of them sitting and absolutely love the feel of them in my Gyruss and Time Pilot. I was thinking that they would be really good for playing Robotron. Not sure if they would work well for the other Williams games, but has anyone tried these on Robotron?
