FS: new Wei-Ya chassis 825HR $100

I had one of those once and I had the same feelings. I used it on the bench as a test monitor instead of leaving it in the machine. It has no contrast controls and it's just hard to get a good picture without it looking washed out. It had other issues too.. some slight jittering and so forth. It just seemed like a cheaply made chassis. I ended getting a used Wells and it was so much crisper and sharper.

its hard to describe, but in short, no matter what i did, it was impossible to get a good color balance. the new makvision monitor that i put in its place on the other hand is one of the best looking monitors i have ever seen. go figure. mosty people say the maks are junk. i dont know what they were doing wrong.

does anyone know what monitors this chassis is a good replacement for?

Yeah, Good Will Store may have some 25" TV's that match right up.. That's what I put my chassis on and used it as a bench monitor. Find a TV around the year 93-99, Rca is great! Magnavox works too, or even a Zenith. If I remember right the 825HR has the same veritical and horizontal ohms range as a Wells G k7000 25's. You don't even have to mess with yoke swapping or anything. That's why I ended up putting a used wells on my tube instead of using the wei-ya. They were the same.. Anyways, that's what I would do.. You may get a better picture out of the chassis that way too.
