It shouldn't be available, as I was the winning bidder of his auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Namco-20yr-...item2313eb450e&autorefresh=true#ht_500wt_1413

However, 10 minutes *after* the auction, he refused to honor the bid because he says he already sold it.

Well, a couple of things about that:

(1) We've communicated for a couple days and he made no mention that it was sold.

(2) One can see that he posted pics above here on KLOV 5 minutes before the auction ended, so it was still available.

(3) It's still on CL http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/vgm/2583720204.html even after I pointed this out 2 hours ago.

(4) It's still listed here, again 2 hours after the acution.

(5) I had a friend call his number an hour ago to ask about the machine. He said he was on the other line and that he'd call back. He didn't say the machine was sold or otherwise unavailable.

Did someone here buy it in the 5 minutes between the time he posted the above pics and the time the auction ended?

If you win it on ebay, isn't it a binding contract? That really sucks that he isn't honoring the auction you won.

OP: Sell GalagaUSS his machine.

You listed it, he won it, its his.

Noone is going to buy this thing on here now with shady shit like that.

Galagauss Id be fucking pissed too.

He puts in his auction "Selling local , I have the right to end auction at my discretion." which is fine IF HE ENDS ITEM EARLY. Which he didnt, he let auction run its course so you have the upper hand galaga.

I would wait to hear a response before getting the torches lit...

Buyer is in Boston, auction is marked "PICKUP ONLY". Was the buyer ready and willing to drive from Boston for this game?

He said they did communicate "for a couple of days", what occurred in that communication? Was a reason stated for why he refused to sell it to the high bidder? Did the buyer ask for anything additional, such as shipping, crating etc?

I think there is probably a fair amount of story here, where the truth lands I don't know, but like I said, wait to light the torches...if it turns out this guy is in fact douche I'll buy the first gallon of gas for said torches.

Nothing funny about location. I grew up near him and visit often and will be there in a week. I told him I could pick it up then. If that was a problem, I could have someone pick it up for me. I didn't ask him to ship or do anything.

Fair enough...if that was something addressed then that changes things. I just saw the location and thought that might be an issue.

What was all said in your two days of communication? Did he reply when you pointed out that he is still selling it?

I bet it didn't have anything to do with the fact that it sold for 300$ less then he wanted....Sounds like some douchery on the sellers part... *lights torch*

And if that is the case Iwould retract any offer ande abstain from doing business with the seller.

I listed a bunch of PC-10 games here. 2 of them I had decent offers but not enough for me to sell them at, so I listed them on ebay. I ended up getting LESS then what I was offerred here. One of them it cost me the same to pack and ship it. The buyer was cool, even felt bad and offerred to let me out of the auction.

I shipped them off. A deal is a deal in my book, and sometimes you don't get what you want, but that is the risk you take. BTW guy is now a KLOV member and quite the cool fellow, a pleasure to deal with.

But, this wasn't an "offer", right? It was an auction, correct?

Does this violate the terms the buyer and seller both agreed to?

The usual stuff, questions about the machine--condition, pictures, etc.

No reply to me pointing out that it's still listed for sale. It's still on CL.
