I'm selling a mint condition Atari CX-10 aka Heavy Sixer joystick. These shipped with the uncommon Heavy Sixer model in 1977 and are highly collectible. I really don't want to sell this gem, however I am in need of funds for arcade-related items.

This particular joystick (clicky PCB model) is in perfect working order, with exact replacement brand new triangular metal dome switches and a like new rubber boot. The paint is all original and in phenomenal shape, with only very minor wear. The plastics, also original, are in perfect shape. The rubber feet are very nice and barely worn for their age. I've also added a retaining ring around the boot like in the CX-40s to fix a common issue with these CX-10s, which is the boot slipping right off. Everything has been cleaned and shined. The only thing missing is the hex disk "ATARI" logo.

If you are interested, make me an offer. These are very rare with few remaining.
Pix will be posted later today.

What are these worth? I have one of these joysticks too, and in pretty good condition. Not for sale, though.

I've seen CX-10s range from $5 to $60 depending on condition, if the metal hex thing is still there, and most importantly..who is selling it.

I suppose I could make a hex disk like someone did on AtariAge and use cardstock, but I'm not sure how well that would come out.

I'm thinking maybe $65-75 shipped because this is really nice and really hard to find working.

My understanding of the CX10 is that the only major (visual) difference was the hex logo on top of the handle. Other than that, the internal PCB is different than the later CX40s

If you don't have the logo and you have a replacement PCB inside .. how can you be sure that its even a CX10?

is "TOP" printed on the joystick at the base of the stick?

The internals and screw positions are entirely different on a CX-10. CX-40s use a PCB and a shaft. CX-10s use a plastic sheet with "holes" punched out for the addition of springs. Because of the added internals, the screws sit much higher. CX-10s do not say TOP, so naturally this one does not. Another difference is the button. CX-40s have a matte button that's curved around the edges and has a short throw. CX-10s have a glossy button with a far throw and sharper/higher edges.
At the moment it has a CX-40 boot to eliminate the hole in the top for the hex disk. I could reinstall the original if desired.
FYI the PCB is original. I only installed brand new metal domes as the original ones were toast.

Don't worry, I know my sticks. ;) I'll post pix tomorrow to confirm.

Sorry, pix totally slipped my mind while I was moving games getting ready for the next. :)

I'd prefer cash to be honest, the reason I'm selling this is to be able to fund the fee for me next game. :)
