No offense to Zinfer, but with all due respect man when Dave ships something at a loss, doesn't that send up a red flag? Why would any business do that? When he offers HALF off his stock if you've prepay him a grand up front.... doesn't that send up a red flag?
A business that does that scares me. Dave makes the absolute best stuff around but he needs to work with somebody else on handling the shipping/ordering/pricing/whatever part of it.
Walt Disney was the same way. Take it as a compliment, Dave. Walt Disney couldn't pay his telephone bill but was the absolute greatest animator of all time, an american hero. There's no shame in it, you just need to get somebody who can handle the business side of it better. Walt hired his brother Roy, maybe you've got somebody you know and trust that can help you run things while you keep making these great parts?
Agreed.
think about it. not the best buisness model to follow and should raise concerns
more than "hey I got free stuff cause I derseve it."
and how anyone can overnight ship (UPS Sat delivery is extra on top of that)
to anywhere on the planet is also something to think about. its not cheap.
and in the recent SW yoke case for example
2 day prioty would have got there just about as fast for a whole lot less.
so why would it be soo important for someone to spend that kind of extra $$$
when its not nesasary? Because Dave wants to make sure you get your yoke a day earlier ?!
I dont think so.
Not a knock at Dave Ive mentioned this to him before,
and that he should really think about a distributor(s) to sell his stuff.
I would think most retailers would be open to the idea, but wouldnt except them
to prepay for any of it before hand for the same doubtful reasons as previously posted.
but on a consignment type basis with a monthly/quarterly sales and percentage exchange.
