FS: Jungle King - The real part out

what a serious effing waste of a perfectly good game... nice work.
Are you here to buy something? No then move along!

I called ArcRevival an A-hole before because of one of his comments before about someone offering an empty water damaged cab for free.(instead of buying all new parts for it)

But this is F'ed up!!
You claim you offered this game here for $150 before destroying it...

Yeah you offered it for $150 NOT WORKING for two days before starting to part it out. Just to be fair, you actually did offer it for $200 NOT WORKING 4 days before parting out

Here you offer it for $150 NOT WORKING on the 29th and say you will part it on the 31st if not sold. http://forums.klov.com/showpost.php?p=885724&postcount=8

Here you are already parting it out on the 31st with it now WORKING
http://forums.klov.com/showthread.php?t=102002

I doubt you ever had any desire to sell it whole. You offered it not working for 4 days at $200 -> $150 then it was suddenly working only in parts for $400 combined, you never once posted that it was available working for ANY price.

While I don't have a problem like others about parting out a game that you cant sell, this situation is BS. Offer this game for $200 working for a week or two, then if it doesn't sell you can claim you "tried to sell it before parting it out"

This was offered complete on CL, and on here as well with NO emails, no calls, nothing. I offered it up for $150 but got it working after replacing 2 fuses and now i have to move it. Tear

I see at least one person that PM'ed you when you offered it for $200, but you say "PM'S (plural) replied to" which leads me to believe you received more than one.

I dont really need to justify my actions however it is what it is. I said not working because I didnt have have a chance to work on it. Once i messed with it and cleaned it up it fired up. Yea initially when i turned it on all i got was monitor hum and glow. Red light on the fuse board didnt come on. Checked and swapped out 2 fuses and and we have life.

I got more PM's about wanting parts off it then anything. When I got it working I had already agreed to sell the PCB and CP.

Im pressed for space and time from the wife so when i decided to get rid of it that was my stance from day one. Is there anything wrong with flipping a game? IMO the cabinet is in rough shape, too rough a shape to justify the cost of machine. More importantly the whole thing had to go by the 11th as well as 2 other games for space purposes.

Since you like to disect my threads i guess you should also know the 4 people i communicated with that i practically begged them to come get the game whole. With 1 residing in my state however i was "too far" for all of them which i hey i can understand.

BTW i have been selling for lower then the posted prices. Thanks for trolling

NOT one serious email, PM about buying game on here or CL until i had sold and accepted money for the PCB and CP. Im including the PM from the gentleman here in ohio BTW. PM's replied to also mean questions answered and sometimes dont always refer to parts or the game in itself as a whole.

For the record i even offered it up yesterday to a KLOVr minus the PCB and CP and was going to take down add but considering those two parts important and/or hard to find he passed. So considering that i guess the $$ of parting a game came into play

Your going to get some hate over this because this is a hard to find game not a jamma cab.. You had it up for a very short time and in this economy it takes time and this would have sold.. You throw out attitude and talk about throwing the cab in a field, how do you think people are going to react? To me when you say you are going to throw it in a field you are trying to piss people off and get a reaction out of them. This preservation site for the most part. It is yours so you can do what you want. I also understand there are circumstances where people need to move a game like loosing thier job or illness.

I realize you don't have to justify anything. You can part out any games you want or burn the cab. There is that guy here whos whole business is junking cabs for parts (boneyard or something)

I just saw this thread and the first post was "I just got this working but cant keep it so am parting it out" which I thought was strange. I read on where you said you offered it for $150 and nobody wanted it which also seemed strange for a working game, so looked at your past posts.
I was not trolling or looking to "dissect" your threads. Its just very clear you offered the game not working for a total of 4 days then parted it out, even though you got it working.

Again, I have no problem with you parting it out, but think you should have offered it working first. I do have a problem with your claim you offered it for $150 and nobody wanted it, I just was pointing out the facts. Not many people will spend $150 on a non working game, and I'm sure you received many pm's about parts since it was non working and you said you would part it out in 4 days. But I bet many people may have been interested in a working game for $150 (or even the $200). People even said so.

So I'm not trying to get in an argument, I understand having to get rid of things and wives. I only had a problem with you saying it was offered with no responses before you were forced to part it, and the fact that 4 days is very short, many people don't check in every 4 days.
Just say it had to go and you parted it, and take the beating from the "never part anything" members.
Good luck.

civil and respectable.

I never understand the sudden urgency to dump a game that has probably been in a garage for months. You posted it over a 3 day weekend too, when people are gone. I just dont get how people that part games like this and the vultures that swoop in on the parts can pretend to care about classics.

Hi Arc,
I do agree that parting out a game (especially working) is completely against trying to preserve these games. But for the "vultures that swoop in on the parts" they obviously have the same game that they want to restore and need to get the parts to do so somewhere (you cant preserve the games unless you can get parts to keep them working)

But while I admire your passion in preserving all games, I think you should do a little research before posting accusations. A quick look (I even posted links) at his past posts would show he didn't have this game sitting for months, and had just picked it up not working and said he couldn't keep it and needed to sell it. He did lower the price twice saying that he wanted to get rid of the whole game instead of parting it out. It was also a week before the holiday weekend that it was offered. I do think giving 4 days is a bit short to try and sell the game before parting, and have an issue with him finding out the game worked and then parting it without letting anyone the chance to buy it whole.

Please take a little time to check facts before making accusations, While your heart is in the right place, making two false assumptions just gives details to be argued and devalues the validity of your post.

This is where I had an issue with your posts before. A member(s) went to great trouble and saved a game AND an empty cabinet from being destroyed and you tell him not to ever buy another game and that you were "really, really, really, really, really, really, really,r eally, really, really, really, really, really,REALLY sick of seeing "collectors" part out perfectly good cabinets because they are too lazy and impatient to wait for the parts that they need to come along." If you had bothered that time to check his past posts you would see he had saved a game with a waterdamaged cabinet from being sent to the dump, and also drove at least 4 hours(probably 6) to pick up another EMPTY cab that was going to be trashed to swap the parts into.
He then, instead of just getting rid of that water damaged cab, offered it for free if anyone wanted it. You attacked him for parting out a cabinet.
Unless you have some magic way of restoring games with out buying/replacing parts you cant complain when someone replaces a part especially when they offer the old part for free.

So to sum it up, While I agree with your values. you should check what facts are available before making assumptions (I'm sure you have heard the saying about when you assume)
