This is brand new. I bought it for a Multi-Williams project but I have decided to restore my cab back to Robotron.

Asking $165 plus shipping.

I'm a little new to the multi-game board thing. There seem to be a number of them (beyond the N-in-1 boards, obviously). What games does this board play? Is this the board from this link: http://www.jrok.com/hardware/wsf/ ?

Yes. It only plays the Williams games that are the same architecture. The list from the page is:

Defender, Stargate, Joust, Robotron, Bubbles, Splat, Sinistar and Blaster

And before you ask, no Moon Patrol is not included because that is an Irem game licensed by Williams. Completely different architecture.

Also, these games are running on native hardware (not emulated.) So, you get a multi-board running the original code on the original hardware (processor.)

That's what I liked about the board... original hardware. But after playing a few of the supported games in MAME I figured that I only really like Robotron and Bubbles... so I will be buying a Bubbles sometime in the future and I will restore my Robotron cab back to a Robotron.

From JROK's site:
Sound support is handled by an Atmel AVR emulating a 6800 cpu and the 6821 PIA from the original soundboard.

Although, really it doesn't matter. If you are choosing a Multi-Williams board JROK's is the best one

The soundboard doesn't actually effect gameplay, as you can play the original game without a soundboard even plugged in it's irrelevant if it's emulated or not. Plus you can plug in an original soundboard to the WSF board should someone really want to.

The most important thing is what the actual gamecode is running on.

True. I didn't mean to sound like I was discounting your board, just thought everyone would like the actual facts. Plus like you said on your site, the avr can easily handle it. Some people discredit all emulation and you made a perfect case for emulation. Seconded by the fact that you actually test your stuff to make sure it works as it is suppose to.

I own your board and wouldn't buy a different one. In my eye's, there isn't another Multi-Williams board to get.

Now just make a Z80 based one so the rest of us can have some fun. :)

No worries. I think emulation has it's place. Usually in the task of emulating a sub-system that does not directly effect game timing. Also providing it works correctly (!)

Thanks for the vote of confidence !

Z80.. hmnm.. anything in particular ? ;)

Hey jroc, do you still have plans to release the 6800 emulation code? Is it in C or assembly?

How much of the functionality have you emulated? It would be cool to be able to do the 6800 and 6821 PIAs on a pinball board in one IC.

Why are people crapping on Metahugh's FS thread? Isn't this one of the things the new rules covered? I mean thread crapping is so much more of a problem than Price Policing... but whatever... Metahugh's is brand new from what he says BTW...

Seeings as the item is tentatively sold I offered an alternative solution for Jfrudge.
Thread crapping was totally unintentional.

As I thought it was brother Deadly. Once the board is sold for sure then the accidental thread crap becomes moot...

:D

Can a Defender be multi'd. I recall people building multi-williams machines out of Stargate or Robotron cabs(I guess because of the CP) but I recently spotted a converted Defender somewhere online. Anything bizarre need to happen for a Defender to be multi'd? Also, is there a source for CPO's for this sort of thing?
