This is a good working machine that could easily be restored. See pics for cosmetic condition. It plays pretty well. The accelerator pot needs some attention because I can't quite get full acceleration but it's still smooth in game play. All buttons work fine and steering is accurate though there is a noticeable clunk/play when operating it. The springs are in good shape and they return the wheel to center. A previous owner must have replaced the shifter because that knob doesn't look stock. About two weeks ago I played a "quick game before bed" and scored over 1.1 million, so it can't be working too bad.
The cab itself is in pretty decent shape though there are numerous scrapes and minor divots - especially in the side art. It looks like somebody removed part of the side art and painted over the area. Coin door lights up and coins up and there is a free play button installed just below the right coin slot. I have the coin door key. Back panel does not have a lock but has two wood screws holding the door shut. Monitor has a good amount of burn-in.
There is no battery on the power supply board so the game does not hold any high scores or pot adjustments. I have mechanically adjusted the pots so that they don't need an "electonic correction" if that makes sense.
The only issues I have had with the game over the last 4 years have been:
1) Occasional single pop noises in the speakers during game play. It rarely does this, but it did happen recently.
2) The monitor signal cable connector came loose on the main board. It doesn't fit super tight so it was able to sag down at an angle and cause the video signal to go wacky. Just something to be aware of when moving the game around.
3) I didn't play the game at all for over a year and after powering it up the first time this year, the lamp driver was a bit flaky. Either lights wouldn't light up or they wouldn't shut off. After two games of that, I tried jiggling wires looking for something to be loose. Nothing. Then suddenly the next day it started working normally. I've played it nearly every day for 4 weeks now and it hasn't done it since. [shrugs]
4) As mentioned earlier, the accelerator pot is slowly getting a bit worse. It's not rough or jumpy, it just seems like it's losing the range at the top end.
Send me a PM to schedule a time to come by and take a look and play it and see what you think. I'd like to see if find a good home with a collector.
