NOW SOLD - thanks for all the interest

I am not too sure how much these go for these days, there seem to be scary prices on ebay!? however I need to sell my pcb to fund paperboy/outrun projects.

If anyone is able to give me an idea of its value I'll stick a price up.

Original Konami Jamma PCB, (effectively Castlevania in everything but the name!)

I am in the UK by the way.

Ebay risky. I seen one sale for 100 and I've seen some sale for 300. I know I paid like 300 for mine. Can you tell me what version it is? The M version the bats fly with more of a arch in the first level. K version they fly with a smaller arch. M more common. I'd make you an offer if I wasn't so broke. If it's K I still might make one. That's USD figures.

I've never seen a K board for sale or anything. All the ones I've seen has been M. Not sure if you can tell from the chips or not. K alot easier, it's more like the japanes version. I could tell you which one it is if you had video of it running. Make sure you got the Title screen and first bat that fly's on the screen in the first level if you do decided to make a video. Post a picture of the board I know what M looks like off the top of my head and if it looks different might be something to look into.

I've just had a quick play on it and filmed it, I also just tried out both the K & M versions on MAME, this looks to be the K version, the bats have a very small arc, where as the M they really swoop.

Its the 2 pcb version, the bottom pcb being pretty much all mask roms.

Look like this?

The top board does, mine is made up for 2 pcbs, and has a lower ROM board as well. I've taken some photos of the PCB and game in action, also a video (the sound is very quiet in the video as I had to turn it down as my wife and daughter are both asleep).

One of the Roms has had a new label put on it as the orginal one had come off, its has just been fully professionally repaired as one of the caps was causing sound errors and the large custom sound chip has now been socketed.

Pics & Video here... (video should be up in about 20mins)

Its been suggested to me to give a window of time and the highest offer takes it, so I will do that, I'll give it till Friday.
Boxed up for posting it weighs in at just under 2Kgs, I'll look at what courier/postage costs are on Thursday.

Thanks for pointing out the different versions, I would never have known!

Cool.

Your board is an '88 H.C. 2 board set running on KONAMI GX hardware. I've never seen an '88 H.C. 2 board set running on KONAMI GX hardware before. I've always seen the '88 H.C. single board on KONAMI GX hardware. I'm thinking the 2 board set must be an early production run--just because I've seen the singe H.C. board before. :D

Hey, neat board. Thanks for sharing.

And best of luck with your F.S Thread. :)

I have wanted a Haunted Castle for a long time. I just don't want to pay the money for it. Especially since it is so damn hard. I think the "K" version is the easier one. You can take more than 3 hits.
I agree with the price. I have seen them from $100 - $300 depending on how bad someone wants one. I would pay $100, but not $300 for one.
I know you can get the game on a multi board. I guess I am just waiting it out.
Too bad you are not in the US, and the board isn't FREE. I would TOTALLY take it then. ;-)

Neat game.

What a pussy. Using MAME to cheat on the game where you only take one point of damage per hit. I find it funny he even admits he wouldn't be able to get past the first level without the cheat. If you can't play a game without using cheats, then its time to find another hobby.

I paid $100 for my board a few years back. I actually won a Haunted Castle Cocktail Machine for $100 on ebay. Funny no one else bid on it. Didn't feel like getting the whole game shipped from PA to MI so I told him to just send me the board and he could keep the machine.
