I need to free up space and have an Atari Hard Drivin' upright/compact project available. The machine is not 100% complete, but I have almost everything. The main problems are that the monitor isn't working and there is no shifter. And the marquee is fried. But I think almost everything else is there -- the steering wheel and mechanism, ignition key, pedals, boards, coin door, etc.
I don't know anything about monitors, so I can't say whether the monitor can be fixed. I didn't see any obvious problems when I looked, so it might be something simple. But I didn't even start trying to fix it.
I have used the main boards in my other Hard Drivin' machine and they work. Plus, I already installed the replacement chips for the timekeeper problem, so you don't get the error message every time you turn the machine on. That's a $20 (plus shipping) fix alone . . .
Anyway, I originally thought about maybe converting this to Race Driving, or maybe mame-ing it. But I've got too much other stuff to do and I need to free up some space, so I need to turn this project over to someone else. I really don't want to part this thing out, so essentially, I see two options:
1) I'll sell the entire project for $50.
-or-
2) I'll give the project away for free minus the boards and the coin door (I'm happy to keep a spare board set in case anything goes wrong with my other machine, and I have another project or two on the horizon that I could use the coin door for).
Anyway, let me know if you are interested in either option. Thanks.
