Hey guys,

I have a working Gunsmoke PCB, Marquee, Side art, wiring harness and manual. Harness is complete and pulled from a working machine. The screenshot is from a crappy 4900 in deperate need of a cap kit... sorry about that. The manual is in decent shape, except for damage on the cover. All pages are there.

Asking $125 $100 shipped. Or make me an offer. I'll trade/partial trade for some stuff I need...

The Stuff I need:

Working Tron PCB (long shot... I know)
Tron Art ... side art, shroud art
Working Scramble PCB
Super Pac Bezel
Super Pac Marquee
T&F CPO
T&F Side Art
Multicade sideart
Multicade Marquee (7 1/2 x 25 3/4... ish)

Let me know!

THANKS!

I'll never really understand this.. But This PCB appears to be (US Rom Set 2) from what I can tell, So the levels 3 and 6 are switched around. The reason they did this is because people complained that the game was too difficult. So now you need to play level 6 even earlier ? Makes no sense to me but at least you get it out of the way. I personally think the Indian Chief level (traditionally level 6) is much harder than the Ninja level (traditionally level 3). As a side note I think that the UltraArcade unit also uses this particular Rom variation.

other indicators that this is the (US Rom Set 2):

The year says 1986 instead of 1985.
And the High Score say's 110k instead of 100k.

Bottom line, I think majority of the people who have this rom variation probably don't realize but from a collectors stand point It's worth owning!

That's exactly the rom revision I have in my machine. Indian Chief is on level 3, 1986 copyright date, 110,000 high score. My version is also the single button variant, where you fire in the direction the sheriff is aiming instead of using three fire buttons.

Another difference:

After pressing the start button on US Rom Set 1, all of the bosses' wanted posters sequentially display on the screen, while a catchy tune plays. Then it shows Master Winchester's wanted poster, and his $10,000 bounty prize, then the game begins.

On my machine (Rom Set 2), pressing the start button takes you straight to Master Winchester's wanted poster, then the game itself. No "visual roll call" of wanted posters at the beginning.

Kyle

Ah, GUNSMOKE: fun game--way cool.

:)

I think my GUNSMOKE board has ROM Set 1. When I power the game on: the default HIGH SCORE is $100,000; the COPY RIGHT DATE is 1985; and the game cycles through the WANTED POSTERS during the DEMO PLAY. But, when the game STARTS, it does not cycle through the WANTED POSTERS; instead, it just displays the first WANTED POSTER (Master Winchester), which you saw during the DEMO PLAY. And, the LEVEL 3 boss is the NINJA. And, the dude is HARD--even on easy.

Heh, I remember my local arcade had the GS board with the the INDIAN CHIEF on Level 3. As I recall: the CHIEF was tough too. But, it was all good.

:)

Hey, speaking of GUNSMOKE, I've been looking GUNSMOKE--in space. Anyone seen a SIDE ARMS - HYPER DYNE board for sale?

;)
