I have a 100% working Galaga boardset. I will provide pictures of the board and it's working status to anyone who wants one as a prerequisite to purchase.

$200 shipped anywhere in the lower 48. Outside the US it okay, but extra shipping will probably be necessary....

I listed one here last week for half that and got zero response. I think we might have to sit on these for a while to get those 2006 prices again. Oh well.

Well. with Galaga playing perfect on those low cost multi boards I'd say you just might have a hard time ever getting those prices again.... I know when my Galaga board in my game went flaky years ago I sold the non working board and put mame in the cab cause prices had gotten so out of hand on the original boards.

I agree, but as a lot of people would rather keep their Galaga original and not convert it, the multigame board is good for other cabs, not Galaga.

And it's still the most requested game out there, and I won't sell it for what lesser boards sell for just because the economy is down now.

But I see others are taking this opportunity to undercut hoping for a quick sale. That drives the market down more than anything.

Well, when someone really needs one, they'll buy it....

I hope you do not think I listed my Galaga board just to undercut you. In fact I listed it before I saw this post. Anyway I feel the market for Galaga board has always been $125 - $150...even in 2006. So I think I am asking a fair price regardless of economy. Garry

I think most people are over the whole "purist" attitude. The second you put a reproduced CPO on your game its no longer original and as long as it plays like the original and you can't tell it by looking at the outside of the game while you are standing there nobody would know any difference. At one point I set my mame to only show Galaga of the screen just to prove this point to another collector. There is going to be a very small market that has to have all original everything on these games. I mean god forbid anyone put a new power supply in a game to make it more reliable, right??

Mame...."sigh"
Look at it this way my original board went to a collector who had a Galaga in need of it and unlike all these A-holes who strip a cab for parts then chunk the cabinets (because they can get more money that way) I still use my galaga to play the original game. The way I see it I saved two original cabinets from finding their way to the landfill.

And just out of curiosity, how much did the computer and encoder cost to MAME that cab? (And please don't say "I already had the computer"....it cost money at some point.)

My point exactly. Markets are based on supply and demand. There is less demand because people have more (less expensive) options to replace that board and still be able to play the same game.

I agree, you could even find them for less now a days

Keyboard encoder - $20, Computer - free - check Craigslist. Any Pentium III and above will do. You can run a computer monitor - free - again, CL - or if you have an arcade monitor, hack a VGA cable and run soft 15Hz, or if you're feeling froggy, get an Arcade VGA card for $87.

So, on the low end, completely free if you want to hack a keyboard and go the CL route, or $107 for the deluxe version.

Lets not turn this thread in to a MAME +/- hate-fest...

... but since it's already turned in to a Doughnut Shop post filled with fellow price-policers, I will say that I've been monitoring ebay for Galaga and related boards for about 3 weeks now and fully working boards are selling BIN for $139-$159 for Namco boards on average I'd estimate. Not sure if they are selling or not, but that's what they're going for...

Now, tack $20.00 shipping on to those prices are you're close to the $200 shipped price asked by the OP.

Agreed, and fellow klover is not a newbie. He knows what values are. That is his price and if don't like, don't buy and he keeps it in his collection. How can you compare value of a PCB to xx-in-1 ?

Frizz could have even added that Ebay is rolling the dice.. is it really 100% working PCB?

I just out of curiosity looked at the completed auctions on ebay. The highest priced board (included rapid fire chip) sold for $102 plus $12 shipping.

There are a few that didn't sell for under $100 shipped.

The purist around here will point out that the boards for under $100 that didn't sell were both JAMMA versions. They don't consider a dedicated JAMMA/a multi-board or a MAME set up worthy of a dedicated cabinet. Just cause people playing the dang thing can't tell a difference, the point is they know its not the right original part in the game. Funny how those same folks put new power supplies and reproed art work on their "must be original dedicated" games.
