I have two Carnivals, and the one I am selling has been having a very weird sound issue, as discussed at:
I have been trying to figure this out for months, and for whatever reason today now the game doesn't come up. I assume it is something in the reset circuit, or the number of times I have turned this on and off testing things has made something break. Now I just get a random pattern on the screen.
Anyway, I do not need this game, and I was only trying to fix it to learn and to trade for a Space Invaders. Since I am stumped anyway, it is time to move this down the road to someone who might know more about fixing this. The game was working fine other than sound and the picture was bright and clear.
$250 or trade (not much I am interested in other than an SI project but surprise me). I can deliver a reasonable distance from Topeka, KS. Or if you are willing to wait a while I am moving to San Antonio, TX soon and can deliver it down towards that area as well.
What I have done:
G07-CAO cap kit
Power supply cap kit (plus reflowed all connectors) + new voltage regulator
New 12' power cord
New ram in main board (plus reflowed all connectors)
Several new ICs in main board (while chasing the sound issue)
New buttons and carriage bolts in control panel
Reflowed all connectors in sound/music boards
*PARTIALLY SOLVED* Carnival Sound Reverb and No Music (Was: "Stuck")
EDIT: Original problem is solved, but still having sound issues. The sounds during game play are stretched out like a long reverb or tunnel echo if that makes sense. Also, no music at all. Anyone have any ideas on those? ================= I have a Carnival that as soon as you turn it on...
