Since I have a playchoice dual now, I am gonna be putting up my playchoice countertop for sale.

The good:
  • Works as it should
  • Freeplay modded bios
  • Monitor is pretty nice
  • Overall really nice cabinet
The bad:
  • Missing 2p joystick
  • Missing original timer mount
  • Monitor not original (I have the tube and frame for the original, just is missing the chassis. It comes with the machine if you want it. Tube is crazy burnt)
  • Timer bracket is there but is 3d printed. Some people don't like 3d printed but it is fine here. Timer works as it should.
  • PXL_20250819_024519070.jpg
The games:
  • Only one game is currently installed - From Below. From Below is a fun Tetris-like homebrew game. It is on a repro cart.

I am asking $1200 cash or would be will to do trade/partial trade for any of the following machines. They do not necessarily have to be working. I am located about 15 minutes North of Detroit. I'd rather not ship, but I might be willing to meet ya in the middle or even deliver if you are close, especially if we are doing a trade. I'd much rather trade to be honest.
  • Nintendo Red Tent project
  • Nintendo sheriff (table or otherwise)
  • Nintendo Space Launcher
  • Nintendo Space Thunderbird
  • Nintendo Galaxian
  • Exidy Bandido
  • Nintendo Monkey Magic, board or otherwise (haha yeah right)
  • Nintendo TNX pcb (haha yeah right)
  • Dig dug (partial trade)

I made a nice video tour showing the machine. Let me know if you need more details.

Now this seems like a fairly reasonable deal. If you can believe it, I sold mine about 15 years ago for 500 bucks with three games included. I've always wanted to grab another one someday, but everybody's always asking $2500 plus for the damn things, even with no carts.

I'm of the opinion that the countertop is actually the best version of the playchoice to have in your arcade because you can put it in the corner. It's like "I have all these arcade machines yet you choose NES, go sit in the corner and think about your choices".

Yeah, I agree. After the countertop I had a single monitor upright for a long time which I restored, loved and should never have sold. But I did foolishly. I don't know, I don't get the hate for the play choice 10 system, I love playing it on FreePlay where you don't have to worry about the timer. Then it's just playing my favorite Nintendo games on an arcade machine. What's not to like?

I'm scheduled to look at (and hopefully purchase) an upright dedicated single screen PC10 today, but I really appreciate the thorough walkthrough video! That was a great look at the internals of the countertop model.

GLWS!

don't get the hate for the play choice 10 system,
It's more of a preference for playing on the couch with a good tv. That's all it is.

I got a dual and decided to keep that because "it's more iconic" and the opportunity to restore it kinda fell on my lap. I got really lucky with getting the board so that I could restore it at all. There is also something inherently cool about the dual monitor pc10s. I have a feeling I will regret selling this countertop.
