SOLD: FS/FT: MINT Mario Bros Widebody (Bismarck, ND)

I'd like to sell my fully restored Mario Bros Widebody. It's had it all. New computer-matched paint, new silkscreened side art, new CPO, cap kit, new buttons, new correct t-molding, 99.9% condition marquee, all original uncut wiring harness, original marquee light fixture, almost factory-perfect coin doors, Nintendo coin box, new locks and original Nintendo quarter mechs.

Everything works, the game plays flawlessly, no scratches, no dings, hardly even dusty. I keep a couple dryer sheets inside, so it even smells good. Hah.

Comes with the original manual, currently wrapped in plastic wrap and stuck inside the machine.

I have a credit switch wired into the right side coin mech with a tiny pushbutton sitting inside the coin return. No wiring was cut, nothing soldered.

I'm obsessive about my games. You will NOT be disappointed.

Full disclosure: the P1 joystick could use a spring. It's sloppy on the return to center. Works perfectly, though. Available from here: http://mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?sku=TKG-23-22

I'd either sell it, or trade it for a working, non-restored upright Star Wars (not ROTJ - I'm talking the original).

Delivery to the upper midwest can probably be arranged. We'd need to talk it through. Shipping would need to be discussed.

I'd like $700 for it, or make an offer!

Thursday bump.

Lots of offers so far, a few are getting close. I'd be willing to discuss shipping if delivery isn't an option as it seems most of the guys in the upper midwest have tracked down their own MB.

Bump again for a $150 price drop from $850 to $700! I want this bad boy gone. Make an offer. I'm game.

EDIT: I edited this to make things more clear.

I think you need to define what a "big-ass price drop" is in the terms of $$$....Some of us may not necessarily be looking for one, but would for the right price, IF we knew what that price was....

Yeah that's probably not clear if you haven't been following the original post.

I dropped it $150 from my original posting.

The original post contains the current asking price.

BUMP.

That's a very nice widebody...there has to be a grail-seeker out there somewhere....here is your chance for your minty grail.

On a side note...why you selling, you just "done" with it? Game play? I have one and me and my daughter played the heck out of it for the first few months, but now it just sits. Great game though, can't see parting with it - mostly because it was one of the games I played a lot in the arcades - memories. :)

..

Thanks man. It just doesn't get any play, and I have a hankerin' for a Star Wars and no extra room, so the least-played goes.

My kids thought it was OK, so did I, but they're more into the one pinball machine we have and the MAME cab. Star Wars has been my grail since I was little, and Mamma ain't havin' any more arcades in the basement than what we already own. :)

Nice looking Mario Bros . Mine gets alot of play over here from my brother in law . Its the only game he likes .

I love my Mario Widebody and think the game is a hell of a lot more fun than Star Wars. Ultimately though, this hobby comes down to nostalgia/ childhood memories. I have many memories of Mario Bros, but none of Star Wars. Never even knew about the game until joining this forum. Consequently, I kept (and played) my beat condition Mario in the gameroom for 4 years before I got around to restoring it. On the other hand, I moved my very nice Starwars in from day one, and wanted to sell it within 2 months. Some games, even though they are 'must have games' for some, are just games to those without real memories of them. Good luck with the sale. I wouldn't let my Mario Wide go for less than a grand, but that's probably because I will never let mine go period.

You bastard. You're going to make me not want to sell it. JUST KIDDING! I want a Star Wars.

Regardless, well put, and that's how I feel about both games, just swap the names. I never played Mario Bros before I got it for a good price from a guy in Minot, ND. I basically bought it because I knew it was a sought-after game. SW was the second arcade game I ever played, right about the time I was completely enamored with the movie and the toys. The first was a Pac Man cocktail (and I now have that one).

I've always been a buyer/seller than a collector, too. I've had quite a few sweet cars and other things pass through my hands and when I sell, everybody asks "WHY!?! ..You put so much work into it!"....but I don't mind selling. It's pretty rare I get attached to any one specific thing. Doesn't mean I won't miss this one, though. This MB looks so awesome in the gameroom. Too bad it doesn't get played.

The price I have on this thing is a killer deal. The side art is silk screened (which you can't get now). It's awesome. Buy it.

dreams come true too early

wish i was in the position to get the game. it is one i really want but i need a new place and a better job. guess i should have waited for all my eggs to be in a row before starting into this awesome ave. of collecting.
