fs/ft - Attack From Mars

That's what I am thinking about ...Scared Stiff, shopped out and whatnot - is a 3k-ish game. I've seen shitty ones at auctions for $1600. I can't believe that ANYONE, I don't care how rich they are, are buying Scared Stiff for $6000+

Seriously - you're saying you don't remember retail prices? For shame.

I never paid retail prices...even when I was overpaying!!!! My general mantra w/ pinball: "Buy cheap, fix it up nice myself! Make a buck if I decide to sell" ...except for the occasional "fuck it" when I pull the lever on a new Stern. ;)

I just looked on Ebay, which has the overpriced "retail" prices...and Scared Stiff is @ $4000-ish.

The average price for a Scared Stiff is around $3k.

Finding AFM's, MM or MB for a decent price is much harder than a Scared Stiff.

The buyer in line with me for this AFM was treasure cove. Restored (clearcoat, new cabinet decals, cleaned galore) they have no problems fetching 8-10k for restored A games. Crazy, but the people that buy them don't shop RGP or KLOV.

I like a clean game as much as the next person, but sometimes you just have to play the damn game, because that's what it's meant for. It takes so much time and effort (and patience) to go full blown on just one of these, it's a wonder how anybody gets any play time.

An example of someone that won't settle for less and pays through the nose- type in ''robert somerdin'' on youtube.
Every game is a museum piece. IMO, a waste, but it's not my money.

Now back to AFM. The more I tweak it, play it, the more addicting it has become. I have 4k cash in the game and countless hours cleaning and tweaking. It's built like a tank and tight like a ship. The only thing I've had to get used to is how easy it seems to drain. It had some old black rubber, I replaced with white and it seems to have made a huge difference. Leveling the game seems to have helped too...

Well yeah, if it's coming out of Treasure Cove, they can sell it for whatever they want! LOL

Haha, I know Robert from RGP and Facebook - but I didn't realize he had youtube videos....too awesome. Talk about waste of money - Family Guy next to a Shrek....that's the biggest WTF I've ever seen in a collection!!!!! It's LITERALLY the SAME GAME!!!

?!?!?!?! Scared Stiff has been a 3k-ish game for a while....who the hell is buying them for 6k+ !??!?!

Totally agree. A few games are fetching premium prices: Medieval Madness ($7-8k not uncommon), Monster Bash (easily $5k+), Cirqus Voltaire ($4.5k range)... SS has been a $3k game for a few years now. It was never a $6k game--MM and MB and Big Bang Bar repros are the only games generally in that price range or higher, with AFM pretty close. Finding one non-pinball sucker to tremendously overpay for a pin does not change the game's typical value, just like asking a ridiculous price for a pin on ebay also doesn't.
