Needs to be shopped, typical cabinet fade, but plays out well. No burned or hacked board connectors, sharp dmd display, good playfield,

$4k
Open to trades, TAF, Banzai Run, IM, SM, GNR, or??

Thanks, James- Gardner, MA 01440

Nice price.....

Good price for an AFM. They are getting harder to find especially if they have a good playfield. Expect the price of AFM's in the 10 years to be double that price.

Why do I feel like ALL our pinballs will go down in price in 10 years?

I think some titles will go up, some will remain the same and others will go down.

Given the games in the collection you have, I don't think you have a whole lot to worry about.

Hah...nah, I don't worry about pinball long term value. I guess what I meant was - I sorta feel like we're at a peak in pinball prices...and as time goes on and less people are nostalgic about pinball (and less willing to spend close to $10,000 on a game) , the 90's games prices will eventually come back down to earth to some extent. ....or we'll all be dead. Who cares. :)

I never thought I'd say this, but they might actually stop making arcade video games before they stop making pinball machines...

Well, in a way, arcade vids are more irrelevant in today's society than pins! At least pins offer the player something different than what's on their phone or home console...and I can't imagine many home owners spending thousands on NIB vids like they would with pins. That said, the ops I've talked to seem to be pretty happy w/ the money lightgun games & racing games bring in....*shrug*

Hey - sorry to hijack your thread, Shackles - but it's in the wrong forum anyway and this keeps it bumped, so it's all good. ;)

I wonder what I could get for mine...

No wear, brand new cabinet decals (flawless installation by previous owner), excellent in every way. It's a true 10/10 machine. I wouldn't sell it, but I wonder what the market is like for it sometimes.

For what ever reason seems most collectors feel that game is one of the holy grails. The prices they claim is acceptable is $4000 - $4500 for that game.
Looking a past sales history I personally thought that is BS.
But look at this:

I guess I truly have no clue what pins are worth anymore ;)

Maybe auctions like that are why this "feels" like a peak. Everything seems to have gone up recently, and prices are always highest just before they dive!

At least...one can always hope!

To try to stay on topic, I bought a Taxi topper from James. I was satisfied.

Ill tell you this much. LAst year around November it was damn near impossible to find a Scared Stiff for under 6k. I was looking to sell one for 8.5k and all I had to do was find one and couldnt. NOw I have found several for under 3k. The prices change. If I am to buy this machine I will be selling it for 7.5-8k. Ill do some work first and some new art but thats what I will get for it.

?!?!?!?! Scared Stiff has been a 3k-ish game for a while....who the hell is buying them for 6k+ !??!?!

You have to think outside the collectors(us here) market. There are people that are willing to pay that for one, doctors, lawyers, celebrities, etc.

That's what I am thinking about ...Scared Stiff, shopped out and whatnot - is a 3k-ish game. I've seen shitty ones at auctions for $1600. I can't believe that ANYONE, I don't care how rich they are, are buying Scared Stiff for $6000+
