FS/FT: Astron Belt/Galaxy Ranger - Price Reduced!

For Sale/Trade - A fully working, restored Astron Belt/Galaxy Ranger
-----------------------------------------------------------------
(Kansas City metro area)

Both Astron Belt and Galaxy Ranger are hard to find laserdisc arcade games, so here is your change to own one!

*** REVISED ***
***** Price reduced to $400 ****** Plus, as later post show I will include some extra AB/GR parts, extra other game parts, & some Wi-Fi/Router stuff too!

The cabinet and all parts are Galaxy Ranger, except for the ROMs, LaserDisc, Bezel (printed repro) and Marquee, which are currently Astron Belt. The buyer can choose which game they could prefer it be (Astron Belt or Galaxy Ranger). I have all of those comparable parts for Galaxy Ranger, except for the printed repro bezel, which I am working on getting made.

When I received this game it was not much more than wood. I have researched and acquired all original parts to restore this game to it's former glory. The pictures show all of the parts and the game plays great! I encourage potential buyers to come and play it for themselves. I made every effort to restore it to match how it originally looked, played, etc.

All lights work, the t-molding is new and the monitor was capped last week. There is some burn-in on the monitor (G07), but it's not noticeable during game play. The back door and laserdisc player drawer are new. I used my existing Astron Belt laserdisc player tray to create a near copy, so it is like the original. However, I do not have the metal bars for the drawer, but it doesn't impact play in any way. The drawer locking mechanism is included, but not yet installed when these pics were taken. The exhaust fan also works.

The laserdisc player is one of the two original models shipped with this game and works great. The laserdisc player exterior has some paint splatter from the previous op owner. I haven't tried cleaning it, so it may come off. The paper in the front coin door is simply to keep it closed during pics, since no locks are currently installed.

The cabinet does have some mild water damage, as can be seen in some of the pictures showing the bottom edge of the cabinet. However, it doesn't impact the game play and the cabinet is solid. It was re-enforced along the bottom inside. The wooden slates that may be shown in the pics are simply to lift the game off the floor during restoration and to prevent water/snow during the winter. If the buyer wants Galaxy Ranger, then the included Galaxy Ranger laserdisc is slightly warped, but does play. However, I still recommend replacing it (NOS show-up on ebay often). I am advertising for a replacement currently on KLOV and DLP.

I will provide additional pics for any serious inquiries. This can be shipped if you make ALL arrangements, but I will not pallet, crate or wrap it. Otherwise, local pick-up is preferred, so the new owner can play it first. The May 2 Grandview (Kansas City) auction is coming-up and I am only 10 minutes from the auction site, so pick-up is easy.

Black Matrix, you are funny. :) The last last paragraph of my initial post is your friend.

I'll add it to the first for folks that didn't make it that far down. :)

OK, that's a fair observation. But you got to admit, you did kind of build up the suspense by placing the answer to everyone's first question in the very last sentence of the post.

Yeh, you're right. I didn't think about that until you said something. :)
+1 for you. :>

Hopefully, I will be able to find a nice home for this game.

I can get you a nearly perfect astron belt cabinet

I forgot to mention in my original post that I have some misc. AB/GR parts left over from the conversion. I will happily include those as well to sweeten the pot some (no, not that kind of pot!). :)

Anybody... anybody...

I am open to offers, trades, etc. The Kansas City auction is coming-up, so somebody offer something to trade.

In addition to the others Astron Belt/Galaxy Ranger parts, I can also throw in two wireless (Wi-Fi) routers and a wireless PCI card. Sorry, no children or pets to include in the deal!

The warehouse that I pulled my last red baron out of has some, but the guy won't part with stuff too cheap. But he does have several very nice ones. Next time I go down I'll get you a price.

Thanks mikeatunion. Trade me some parts or another game, so you only have to worry about shipping. :)

**** I am also dropping the price to $400. ******

Weekly bump. I really want this to go to another collector. These games don't seem to have a following in KLOV. :(

Scott C.

Well I would love it but I am trying to downsize right now. Bad timing for me. Great price though. I sold one of these for $1100.00 once... granted, it WAS 2000 but a 60% depreciation?

Yes, I priced to price it to sell, so I am really hoping the right buyer comes along. Trades are good too and that seems to be easier for most folks.

I am thinking of making this a multi-game, so it will play both games with the flip of a switch and swap of the laserdisc. Would that motivate anyone to purchase it/trade for it or would I just be wasting my time? I would take it to auction, but suspect I would get hammed (auction prices are down so much on classic games, even really nice classics).

Sorry, if I seem a little sour. I am just disappointed I spent almost a year restoring it from wood, with the intent of selling/trading it, only to find so little interest.
