FS" Discs of Tron in Texas (CL, not mine)

It's the upright, not the Enviro. He'd be lucky to get half of the asking price.

I know I have seen that one before on CL. Might have raised the price since repro-artwork is now available. Gotta love that Tron inner side art!

Its all a matter of catching someone who has the cash burning a hole in his/her pocket and loves that game.

exactly... ive learned to not listen to people and what they think it should sell for.. its getting so old anymore...

also if i did listen, i wouldnt own half the grails in my collection!!

Since its in texas, I would say thats driving range for you. No one wants to say to you should pay that much for it, but if you factor in shipping and possible damage in transit of something that probably could not get money for if damaged by a shipping company.. Think of it as $300 savings if you go pick it up.

I would say its worth a phone call.. Try $1500 and see what happens. The one we sold last year was in better shape, but it was also for much more money than he is asking..

Just to let you know, I am a biased opinion as I have a DOT UR that need to finish fixing and then sell. I set a goal to have it ready by CAX... Just been too busy fixing and selling off my friends games to get to it right now(almost done. 4 more games to fix)..

I wanted one really bad, but there was no way I would have paid more than $900 for an UDOT. It's not a vector. it's not a laser, it's not a prototype, it's not historically significant.

Maybe that's true, but it IS VERY beautiful to see in person. It's the best looking raster game I've ever seen and the gameplay is great.

But it is highly desirable, collectible and very rare. I've seen nice Tron's sell on ebay for $1500, so why not a UDOT?

Do you have a nice one for $900 you'd like to sell? :)

I'll pay $1900 for an *EMPTY* edot in Florida as long as the cabinet is in great condition with near mint side art. I'm serious so please pm if you can help.

thats a load of crap.. What makes laserdisc games or vector games historically significant? Other than dragons lair, the rest of the laserdisc games are who cares.. I think the no one in the world would miss astron belt, or galaxy ranger..

Same thing with the atari vectors, besideds asteroids, star wars maybe tempest and battlezone, who would miss ESB..

Discs of tron is just as significant as tron is. Even more so as it was only part of the game that was deemed worth making into a solo game. Tron is just 4 disjointed parts slammed together just like gorf is. Other than light cycles, tron would suck.. Also discs of tron is probably 5x more rare than tron.. If trons are selling $400-$1500, it would stand to reason DOT would be worth little more..

And when it comes right down to it, who cares about history. I don't collect games that are historically significant. When I started collecting, DOT was a must have. Tron, I never really cared to own until a real nice one came accross my path.

I fully agree. :)

Same here, as for assessing value to the item my point is if you do not have one to sell then you can not set a price on the item. I.E. If you do not have what it takes to buy one, then I do not think you would have what it takes to sell one.

Just my experience....
