OK, I didn't really want to bring this "ended" thread backup to the top, but for the sake of giving Les Manley a big thumbs up it was required.
Les Manley was super nice and super awesome to deal with. I'm not sure why he has a negative feedback, but from my personal experience with him I can't imagine it was given with good reason.
Anyway... so Les Manley finds a KI machine, but doesn't have the space for it. Knowing it's a steal of a deal he lists it here for fellow KLOVers. Now keep in mind that he doesn't even own the machine.
So I see the thread and contact him via PM. He then gives me his phone number to contact him so I call. First impression is a very nice person that sounds very easy to deal with. We chat a little about the machine and what he knows or doesn't know...
...without prompting now, he offers to buy the machine from this other (unknown to me) person, pick it up AND store it until I can meet up with him. Now in my mind this can be a huge risk considering that if I was a flake (I'm not, but you get the idea) he'd be stuck with a machine he probably can't afford and doesn't have the space for.
At this point I offered some form of down payment to make him feel easier about things such as a paypal or something and HE declined... crazy if you ask me. Luckily for him I don't back out of deals 99.9% of the time (the 0.1% being if my house burned down or something major like that, lol).
So the price is currently set at $400 (if you don't follow KI machines much, this is a pretty good price for a fully working KI cab with KI2 conversion board set).... but being a KLOVer I have to ask IF this other person would maybe take $350. Les Manley basically says he's not sure, but says they seem motivated and they probably would take that. He then says he'll chat with the seller and see.
At this point I'm thinking "wow"... he going to: pay for the machine in cash for me, pick it up from the seller, then transport it home and store it until I can pick it up... AND he's going to haggle for a lower price for me! Amazing!!
A day or so later I get confirmation that the seller accepted the price of $350, the machine is picked up and paid for and is waiting for me to meet up with Les Manley.
Basically I couldn't believe how nice Les Manley was being and for a show of some respect I said I'd add $25 ($375 total) for his trouble and gas. I know considering everything he did it's not much, but at first he didn't want me to give him anything extra and said it wasn't needed.
So I meet Les Manley in person at a restaurant parking lot late at night with sub-zero temps (this is Minnesota... think the temp was around -10f)... and he even helped us load the machine into the back of my truck. BTW, super nice in person too.
Now for all I know Les Manley bought the machine for $100, but at this point I don't care, lol.
Thanks again Les Manley!!!!
Just had to post how awesome this deal worked out.
