Now splitting up the system.

Prices shipped, each:

$14.00- AM466 X10 15A 3 Pin Appliance Module- 16 Available
$15.00- TM751 X10 Wireless Transceiver- 2 Available
$10.00- HR12A X10 Palm Pad Remote Control- 2 Available
$20.00- XPCP X10 Pro Signal Bridge Passive Coupler- 1 Available

-Sometimes some (or most) wouldn't power on. Even if the transceiver was plugged into the same outlet.
-A couple times, I don't know if there was a power surge, outage or something, but some of them turned on by themselves and were on all day.

Didn't know if it was just me or my house it didn't like?? Just moved onto a more stable system.

My next solution- none of that will be possible. Flick a switch and desired game will turn on.
Still waiting on some power cords, so I will post my new setup when it is complete.

What was wrong with the X10 stuff, just out of curiosity? Been thinking about getting some.

The basic problem with X10 is that there's no feedback from module to controller, there's no error correction in the data stream, and it's operating in a high noise environment. So the contoller just sents a signal and you have to hope it works. Motor noise from appliances tends to make it act wierd, and control between circuits may need special handling.

Overall, it's fine for turning on a lamp across the room, but tends toward the unreliable for more complex installs. On the up side, it's a LOT cheaper than anything else I've seen.
