FS: Blue Elf 2 + Blue Elf->JAMMA Adapter - SF Bay Area

Blue Elf 2 309-1 (bought from Nixs for $160 shipped) and Blue Elf to JAMMA adapter (bought from armi0024 for $15 shipped). $140 shipped for both.

I just picked them up within the last 2 weeks, but need funds back for the reasons I stated in my Vs. FS thread.

The Blue Elf 2 works fine but has known slowdown issues with mainly the CPS1, CPS3 and Sega games. CPS2 and Neo Geo run fairly well. Also, there are a lot of weird HK and bootleg games included that shouldn't be considered part of the 309 games. Just telling it how it is. But it's a quick solution to someone with little space, no Neo Geo cab and lack of funds for the real CPS2 and CPS3 setups. :)

The adapter allows you to plug it in without having to hack up your wiring to work correctly with your existing JAMMA setup. There are wires going from the adapter that you would need to connect to your 4-6 buttons on both 1P and 2P. There's even optional wires for power depending how your cab is setup. Works great!

If by VGA out, you mean being able to connect it to a TV, then, no, it definitely doesn't have VGA out. It connects strictly via a JAMMA edge connector.

I know this is old news and the item has been sold, but does the adapter (from Paradise Arcade) generally come with the wires/harness for the kick buttons?

yes, generally it comes with two sets of wires, one for the video adapter(so you can easily convert to VGA with a Gonbes board) and another for the extra buttons.

I know this is a old thread but its worth a shot for info:

I have a street fighter 2 ww "no pcb" I am wanting to put a blue elf in it so he can have this in his college dorm room and have the "cool factor" there.
Plus he can have lots of games in one machine, i understand the issues with sound not being the best. But is it worth while to have a game with decent sound and play?
Also is it a direct connect with the jamma on SF2? Or would I need to have other wire harnesses?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

the blue elf is not true jamma, the best thing i have found is just buy one of the blue elf to jamma adapters from ARMI0024. that way you will not have to hack up the jamma cable already in the cabinet in case you change your mind later

Bazookajoe, rather than bumping (3) old "blue elf" threads today, maybe post a question in a separate subforum, so as to others don't think these threads are actually active? This should be common knowledge.

So then ...its simply plug and play without damaging the existing harness, I like !!!
Im gonna have to get me that adapter, blue elf, etc.

I was asked to build a Blue Elf cab for SC3 and stumbled on this thread. You absolutely do NEED to install one of the Blue Elf Adapters between the Blue Elf game board and the Jamma cabinet.

The adapter has extra headers to split the video off to a VGA converter and power but that's optional and not required if you are using a Jamma cab with a standard resolution monitor. You will however use the 8 pin header with connections for player 1 and 2 buttons 4, 5 and 6 plus ground.

The connection looks like like:

Blue Elf Game --> Blue Elf Adapter --> Jamma Cab
