Making the adapters is why I keep the power cords cut off of donor tvs I also made one just using 2 clip leads to hook up to ANY monitor (including ones with no plugs), but its not something I would leave ANYWHERE near kids or if there's any possiblity of kids finding it. It stays at my garage.

I just cut a power cord and wired an alligator clip to the ground and used a .093 2-pin connector for the main adapter. This is the most common connector I have run into with different monitors.

I tested monitors with a .084 2-pin and 3pin along with a .093 2-pin that was different shape, and one I don't know what kind of connector it is. I also have an monitor extension cord. I had the parts on hand, so it was pretty easy to make.
